This release includes enhancements to several components of the Vocera Platform.

• Staff Assignment Communications Updates

  Right click roles to display a quick menu, including calling and messaging features.

• Limit Console User Profile Access

  Allows for a reduced version of the user profile to be made available for end users, reducing accidental changes.

• Addition of Alert Throttling

  Alert throttling is added to Platform with the following options:
  • System level throttling is enabled by default to protect the system from sending to more than 1200 recipients at a time without batching the delivery with 90 second intervals.
  • Standard throttling can be enabled on individual rules, allowing customers to batch deliveries of non-urgent alerts when there are more than 100 recipients.

• Data Validation Update

  The system validates imported data is properly formatted.

• High Availability Improvement

  The system performs a failover to recover if it detects that queue processing is unresponsive.

• Remote Support Enhancement

  The unattended access option allows for systems actions to be triggered remotely by Stryker, enabling a higher level of support. This feature is set to off by default and is controlled by the systems administrator

The following list includes the defects fixed in this version of the Vocera Platform.

• CRVC-22579 When merging an active Smartphone call with a call on hold, the merge action no longer fails intermittently when the first call receiver gets another incoming call.
• CRVC-22588 The Voice server sends a Voice Logged Out event to the presence on behalf of the Signaling Gateway when user is auto logged out. The Audit Log displays an auto logout entry.
• CRVC-23481 When a SAML integration is enabled and a Vina User is logged out by a remote authentication server, the logout is now properly processed and doesn't prevent subsequent login attempts by the Vina user.
• CRVC-24123 The Voice server no longer fails to mark a Vina device off network in the following scenario: the device hits the auto logout threshold, returns to network and is connected, and then goes off network again.
• CRVC-24459 User entry remains in the Device Monitor even after remote logoff is invoked for the device type that is off-network or offline.
• CRVC-24496 A check has been added to device transfer transactions to ensure accurate login counts display in the Voice server log.
• CRVC-24816 The default prompt is updated when the caller display name is listed as Anonymous in the Guest line.
• CRVC-26040 Creation of a Null Pointer Exception (NPE) caused by logging when call log is null is now prevented.
• CRVC-26432 Additional filtering is now added to remove login/logout events for Vina devices instead of sending those events to the VoiceDataSync log.
• CRVC-26436 Voice users now logout via Auto-Logout within the configured time period.
• PFM-15884 When adding a standby node to a Virtual IP (VIP)-less cluster, the node obtains the virtual router ID from the active node's keepalived configuration.
• PFM-17984 Health check failure audit events (event code 860) are now reported by the previous active node in the new active node’s audit database during a failover event.
• PFM-18111 Database deadlocks created during Platform 6.4 to Platform 6.6 upgrades are now remedied with a change in the migrator's order of operations.
• PFM-18153 The migration does not fail if the eisupport and administrator users are not part of the Global facility.
• PFM-18359 Comma-Separated Value (CSV) files with Add Group and Add Group Facility columns now import with new group references using Bulk Imports.
• PFM-18421 An attribute in the Rooms dataset, that had an identically named attribute in the Places dataset, caused a migration failure. This is now corrected using the migrator.
• PFM-18442 Manual group deletion of a child group no longer creates dangling references for the parent group.
• PFM-18649 Upgrading a server created with a pre-Platform 6.4 gold image caused an issue in Engage Rules where a database column was not being removed. This is now corrected using the migrator.
• PFM-18676 The XMPP adapter's request to the Script Execution Engine (SEE) to open its firewall port failed. The SEE will now restart anytime it becomes unresponsive.
• PFM-18822 Continuous major garbage collections mitigated with an addition of agent to ensure better handling of low-memory and out-of-memory conditions.
• PFM-18932 The migration no longer fails if the membership already exists when creating a subgroup memberships for a permissions group.
• VCXP-17126 A recognition error caused speech recognition issues. A VOID ruleref in the enrollment when a user is inactive has corrected the issue.
• VCXP-17253 Enrollments were ignored for Managed Service Provider (MSP) users with non-base speech packs. This is now corrected by linking enrollments for MSP users along with base speech pack users.
• VCXP-18011 The Nuance Audio Port range for Speech Ports and Genie Sessions now starts from the base port of 7500 and increments to a maximum value of 8220.
• WEB-12974 Non-bed entities linked to a location are now supported and do not cause any issues when exporting the Assignment Locations to Beds Comma Separated-Value (CSV) file in Bulk Actions.
• XMPP-1237 The Smartbadge creates a VoiceLoggedOut event when a user logs out. This event is consumed by the XMPP adapter and unregisters the user from XMPP.
• XMPP-1241 Logging into a real device now overrides and ends a Virtual Session Context (VSC). This means VSC is not supported in Dual Mode.

• XMPP-1358 Use bundle to retrieve Engage Mobile legacy certificate requests from Operations Tools (OT).

• XMPP-1359 This release disables APNS notifications for Engage Mobile by default. To use this version with Engage Mobile the property apple.apns.em.enable must be set to true in the XMPP properties file.
• XMPP-1372Vina iOs users receive a notification sound for Staff Assignment Messages.

This section provides information about known product defects and limitations in the Vocera Platform 6.6.1.

• CRVC-22600 Unsuccessful outbound calls can occur when using commands such as Dial an outside number or Dial an extension if a site specifies a non-default port number for SIP signaling. This causes the VSTG to fail to send the port as part of the SIP INVITE message.

  Version introduced: Vocera Platform 6.3.3

  Workaround: Use IPTables to redirect a port.

• CRVC-22629 The Genie persona (male or female) used for playing text messages through Text-to-Speech does not match the user-configured persona used for other Genie interactions. This results in an inconsistent user experience.

  Workaround: None.

• CRVC-23093 The Standby node restarts when a new username that has a space character in either the beginning or end of the name is added or synced. This occurs during Active Directory (AD) or Comma-Separated Value (CSV) bulk imports.

  Workaround: None.

• CRVC-23572 Multiple backup files can be created when a large Voice data set backup results in a timeout. No data loss occurs from the resulting Audit Log event.

  Workaround: Modify backup script timeout restriction from 60 seconds to 120. See KA9944 for instructions.

• CRVC-23854 If the trunk goes down between the SIP receiving and the SIP processing, PJSIP crashes while to place the call.

  Workaround: None.

• CRVC-24124 If a username is created with a p- in the Username field (such as p-bobz), an internal ID is created with u-p- which treats the user as a personal contact. When this user is added to a group and Voice syncs it to the Standby node, a crash occurs.

  Workaround: None.

• CRVC-26487 On a cluster failover or reboot, a Vocera device with the Vina app may get logged out.

  Version introduced: Vocera Platform 6.5.0

  Workaround: Users log in to the device.

• CRVC-26569 A user on a P1 Signaling device will not receive an urgent broadcast audio if in a call with another user who is a member of the same broadcast group. This only happens when the user on the P1 device is in a different facility than the broadcast initiator.

  Workaround: None.

• CRVC-26583 A user on a C1000 device can intermittently miss urgent broadcast audio if the C1000 user is in a call with a user who is also a member of the broadcast group.

  Version introduced: Vocera Platform 6.6.0

  Workaround: Press and hold the CALL button to trigger push-to-talk functionality to force the audio to stop and start.

• PFM-11104 Deleting a facility with user history may partially delete the facility when performed using the Web Console.

  Version introduced: Vocera Platform 6.0.0

  Workaround: Contact Technical Support to delete the facility directly from the database.

• PFM-18980 A user with an invalid character in the First_Name field causes an error when attempting to update following a migration.

• PFM-19152 The migrator is updated to not set the company name if it already exists.

  Workaround: None.

• VCXP-15100 When the beta Enhanced Voice feature is enabled, the Genie does not recognize the user response from a Smartbadge or Minibadge when it includes special characters in a Multiple Choice Response (MCR.)

  Version introduced: Vocera Platform 6.5.0

  Workaround: Select the response from the device screen for Smartbadges and use the button option on the Minibadge instead of Voice response.

• VCXP-16846 When a Platform Smartbadge user records their name, the .wav file syncs from the Active node to the Standby node. When opening the file on the Standby node, an error generates and the node restarts.

  Version introduced: Vocera Platform 6.4.0.41

  Workaround: None.

• XMPP-32 The Smartbadge and Vina applications report missed calls as declined calls when a second call comes in while a first call is ringing.

  Version introduced: Vocera Platform 6.3.x

  Workaround: None.

• XMPP-39 When a notification is created in a way that sets or updates the associated bed's pillow_number field, the XMPP adapter can get into a deadlocked state.

  Version introduced: Vocera Platform 6.3.x

  Workaround: Pre-populate the pillow_number for every bed to the value that will be reported by notifications. This will prevent the notification creation from generating a bed subscription message, which in turn will prevent this deadlock from occuring.

• XMPP-1299 When a new conversation is started on a Vina device, only the first message shows as delivered if the message recipients have not joined the conversation before subsequent messages are sent.
