This section summarizes the new features in the Vocera Minibadge release.

Features Supported on Vocera Platform 6.6 and Vocera Voice Server 5.9

• Battery usage data—The Minibadge can now log battery usage data. This helps to diagnose battery-related problems.
• IGMP version—The Minibadge now uses IGMP version 2 by default instead of version 3.
• Enhancements
  • When a Minibadge user receives a normal broadcast call while already in a call or broadcast, the Minibadge enunciates "broadcast to {group}."
  • The Minibadge users can now press the volume up and DND buttons in any order to accept the connection request from the MBU app. After the connection is approved, the Minibadge enunciates “Connecting to smartphone.”

Features Supported only on Vocera Voice Server 5.9

• Bluetooth Support—The C1000 Minibadge firmware now provides support for Bluetooth headsets. After you pair your headset with any Minibadge, the pairing information is saved in the Vocera User Profile on the Vocera Server, and you do not have to pair your headset again when you change your Minibadge.

  Interoperability testing has been carried out on the following Bluetooth headsets:

  • Apple Airpods Pro Second Generation
  • BlueParrot – B550-xt
  • Plantronics Voyager 5200

• Voice Commands Support
  • The Minibadge users can now use voice commands to enable or disable group mode, wake word, and Bluetooth.

    Example: "Enable Bluetooth"

  • The Minibadge users can now connect to a Bluetooth headset using voice commands.

    Example: "Connect to a Bluetooth headset"

  • The Minibadge users can now play messages based on priority by adding the priority words such as 'normal', 'urgent', and 'high' in the voice commands for playing text and voice messages.

    Example: "Play urgent voice messages"

  • The Minibadge users can now replay the last played message by adding the word ‘last’ in the voice commands for playing text and voice messages.

    Example: "Play my last voice message"

• Enhancements
  • The Minibadge enunciates the name of the sender while playing a text message.
  • The Minibadge now notifies the users about missed text messages after DND is turned off.
  • The Minibadge users can retrieve the name and location of the initiator during an ongoing panic broadcast call by pressing the DND button.

Fixed Issues on Vocera Platform 6.6 and Vocera Voice Server 5.9

• G6W-4589 False acceptance issue is reported with Wake word. This issue has been resolved. Wake word is enabled by default.
• G6W-4737 The Minibadge restarts when it receives more than 40 alerts. This issue has been resolved.
• G6W-4742 The Minibadge log frequently displays 50% as the Channel Utilization, which does not accurately reflect the true utilization rate. Now the log reflects the actual utilization rate.
• G6W-4756 Unable to reconnect to the Minibadge from the MBU app after the Minibadge Bluetooth is turned off and subsequently turned on. This issue has been addressed.
• G6W-5543 The Minibadge gets stuck in the boot procedure (intermittent) when it is connected to a USB-C cable after the badge battery is removed and inserted. This issue has been resolved.
• G6W-5549 The Minibadge does not play the reminder notification for voice messages after 10 minutes. This issue has been addressed.
• G6W-5562 The panic call does not activate when the Minibadge is in the Settings menu. This issue has been addressed.

Fixed Issues only on Vocera Platform 6.6

• G6W-4297 Minibadge is unresponsive and not always recoverable when a user receives an urgent message with only special characters.
• G6W-4639 Kerplunk plays two times for the text message received during the logged out state.
• G6W-4634 The Minibadge completes the enunciation of lower priority message or alert even after receiving a higher priority message or alert. This issue has been addressed. When a higher priority message or alert is received while the Minibadge is enunciating a lower priority one, the enunciation of the higher priority message or alert takes precedence. PF6
• G6W-5698 The alert LED does not turn off after the enunciation is complete.
• G6W-5697 The alert LED blinks on the Minibadge of the sender of the alert.

• G6W-4736 After being turned off and on using the DND button, the Minibadge does not enunciate "Press the call button to log in."
• G6W-5148 In some situations, the blue-color LED on the Minibadge blinks even after the connection is lost.
• G6W-5671 If a Minibadge user switches from an analog headset to a Google Pixel digital headset, the digital headset does not function properly, and the audio is played through the Minibadge speaker.
• CRVC-22146 The Call button LED changes from amber to green after 60 seconds when an urgent broadcast call is placed on Hold (Applicable only for Vocera Voice Server 5.x).
