SSID

Service Set Identifier (SSID) is a unique 32-character ID used for naming a wireless network. Each packet sent on the network contains an SSID to ensures that data is sent to the appropriate destination. When multiple wireless networks overlap in a certain location, delivering packets to the correct destination is not possible without SSIDs.

The same SSID is used for the badges and the Vocera Collaborative Suite (VCS) deployments.

You can use the Badge Properties Editor (BPE) to specify properties for all Vocera badges. In addition, you can specify different network profiles for different badge types, allowing them to reside on different VLANs.

For more information on configuring badge security, refer to Vocera Device Configuration Guide.
