Making a Device Active

Scenario: The group device manager places a spare device into use in the department.

To make a device active:

Complete steps 1 to 5 in Beginning to Manage Devices.
Update fields in the Add/Edit Device dialog box:
1. In the Status field, select "Active" from the drop-down list.
2. In the Notes field, enter today’s date, the reason for the change in status, and your initials.
3. Click Save.
