IGMP snooping is a method wherein Switches, AP, and Controllers can listen in on IGMP messages
between hosts and routers.
The Network Switches will intelligently forward multicast traffic only to those ports that have joined the
multicast group. IGMP snooping can be configured on network switches and access
points.
To enable multicast features across subnet boundaries, perform the following
steps:
- Enable IGMP snooping for all Switches, AP, and Controllers . For example, switches and access points on
each subnet used by the badge.
- Enable IP multicast routing on all intermediate routers or other network
devices on the Vocera subnets.
- Enable PIM Sparse-Dense mode on all VLANs where the Voice traffic will traverse.
