Welcome to the latest release of Vocera Secure Texting (VST)! The VST solution extends the power of the Vocera Communications System to physicians and care teams that are located outside the hospital. VST balances security and convenience by providing a secure, easy to use, HIPAA-compliant alternative to SMS as well as basic voice capabilities to enhance communication and collaboration. The solution integrates seamlessly with the Vocera platform, providing texting and voice capabilities across Vocera end points.

What's New

This section summarizes the new features in the Vocera Secure Texting product.

What's New in the VST 2.2.0.326 Cloud Platform

VST 2.2.0 is primarily a maintenance release. It also introduces a few new features.

VST-VMP Interoperability Features

There are no features to report in this release.

VST Administrator Features

All features described in this section are available to Hospital Administrators and Practice Administrators, unless otherwise noted.

  • Security Updates

    • Starting with this release any new or updated password will have an 8 character minimum enforced.
    • Current passwords that do not meet the minimum 8 character requirement will still be allowed.

  • Log ID's

    • Message ID's will be included with client logs for easier troubleshooting.

  • Maximum Contacts

    • The VST 2.2.0 app supports a total of 10,000 combined Vocera Voice Server, Vocera Messaging Platform, and native Vocera Secure Texting contacts.

  • Client Settings

    • Client Settings are now saved on the server allowing them to be retrieved when a user logs into a new device.

What's Fixed

This section provides information about fixes and improvements made to the VST Cloud Platform product.

What's Fixed in the 2.2.0 Release

VST Administration Console Fixes

  • DE15050 Cell phone numbers were not saving to a users contact.

    When a user attempted to add a cell phone number to his or her contact information, the number would not save. This has been corrected.

  • DE15446 The Administrator log in would occasionally show a 500 error.

    This has been corrected and error will no longer appear on the screen.

VST Web Client Fixes

  • DE12829 Messages are overlapping

    There was an issue in the system that caused the messages to overlap and therefore could not be completely read. This issue has been corrected.

  • DE14382 Some voice groups are not appearing in a search

    Some voice groups would not appear in a search. This has been corrected and all voice groups now appear in the search appropriately.
