Welcome to the latest release of Vocera Secure Texting (VST)! The VST solution extends the power of the Vocera Communications System to physicians and care teams that are located outside the hospital. VST balances security and convenience by providing a secure, easy to use, HIPAA-compliant alternative to SMS as well as basic voice capabilities to enhance communication and collaboration. The solution integrates seamlessly with the Vocera platform, providing texting and voice capabilities across Vocera end points.

The VST Android app now uses FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) for push notifications. (VSTMC-4294)
Google has deprecated The GCM (Google Cloud Messaging) protocol which was used in earlier versions of VST; however, VST Android Client versions 2.2.2 and earlier are still supported.
The VST Android app now allows you to delete a conversation from the Secure Texts screen. (VSTMC-4687)
To delete a conversation, tap and hold the conversation on the Secure Texts screen until the Delete menu pops up.
The VST Android app displays a message when it is installed, allowing you to white-list the app on the battery optimization list. (VSTMC-4546)
White-list the app to prevent the operating system from putting it into Doze mode. In Doze mode, the app is effectively terminated and does not receive notifications.
The VST app allows you to copy text from one message and paste it into another message. (VSTMC-4390)
You may copy and paste only within the VST app itself. The VST app prevents you from copying a VST message and pasting it into an SMS or other app.
