This release includes enhancements to several components of the Vocera Platform.

• Autoscale Enhancements

  Support is added for scaling concurrent garbage collection threads for improved system stability and memory usage.

• EMDAN Metrics

  Enhanced EMDAN metrics are gathered nightly and the output is sent to the Configuration Tracker directory.

• Limited Downtime Upgrade Enhancements

  More data is preserved during the upgrade process.

• Panic Enhancements

  When a panic alert is initiated, a Java Message Service (JMS) message is deployed containing the timestamp of the panic alert, the device Media Access Control (MAC) address, the user's first and last name, and the Access Point (AP) location of the device.

• Security Enhancements

  Various security enhancements are included in this release.

The following list includes the defects fixed in this version of the Vocera Platform.

• CRVC-27809 A device went off network while connecting and logging in. Now if a device goes off network while setting up the call, the device stays in the wakeup state.
• PFM-19101 The queue health check failed and the audit event reporting it had a misleading component name of Postgres. To correct this, System is used instead of Postgres as the component when auditing an application health check failure from the set_node_state script.
• PFM-19182 Added a null check because the XMPP adapter was failing to start up cleanly after a failover as well as generating NullPointerException (NPE) errors in the Audit Log.
• PFM-19312 The migration from Engage 5.5 to Engage 7.1 was failing due to a custom link (Handle AeroScout.facilities) to the Facilities, if it exists. The migrator was updated to correct this potential failure.
• PFM-19323 A migration from Engage 5.5 to Engage 7.1 fails due to a discrepancy in the system_type in the database. If the Global Site exists, the migrator now ensures it's named 'Global' and has system_type set to true.
• PFM-19376 Modified the MergeSitesAndFacilitiesDatasets migration segment to set the Global site's time_zone field to US/Pacific if no time zone is present.
• PFM-19408 Stream handler failed to link a user based on identity. This was caused by a registered web console XMPP device with no user linked. This scenario is now corrected and the user is properly linked to the device.
• PFM-19627 A large volume of audit event notifications caused a Platform failover. This is now corrected by implementing a custom fixed size thread pool to process messages output. The thread pool ensures response messages related to the same job are processed in chronolgical order.
• PFM-19797 During a failover, the Standby node was unable to fully restart because it was unable find the domain file. Now, the system verifies the domain file is present and valid before it starts. If the file is invalid, a pristine copy is restored and the autoscale settings are applied.
• PFM-19837 Email processes accumulated and exhausted system memory due to a directory ownership incompatibility. Ownership of the directory has been changed and the file sending the emails has been updated to not send emails for these particular outputs.
• PFM-18980 Attempting to make a change on the Manage User page when the user name contains invalid characters displays a 500 error message. Now, the format and max lengths of first_name and last_name attributes of Users dataset are removed.
• PFM-19955 Migrations could fail due to a deadlock between Core migrations and the Configuration Tracker. Moving the the start of the starting of the Configuration Tracker timer/service allows the migration to complete.
• PFM-20079 While upgrading the standby node in a lLimited Downtime upgrade, the Script Execution Engine was replacing the exclusions.conf file and causing the upgrade to fail. Configuration Replication is now disabled on both nodes during an upgrade.
• WEB-13744 The Platform Badge Property Editor (BPE) did not allow configuration of supported 5Ghz channels for B3000n resulting in an error message when configuring those channels. Support for the additional channels 120,124, and 128 has been added for operation with the US locale.
• WEB-13816 The BPE displayed channel 144 for the B3000N devices. This channel is not supported for this device. Channel 144 is now removed from the BPE for the B3000N devices.
• WEB-13831 In the Vina app, if a green/available caregiver was added to a group chat using “G” avatar or the multi-select button, the information section of that group chat displays the caregiver as gray/not available when in fact the caregiver is green/confirmed logged into the app. This caused the presence of the caregiver in INFO pane to not show on the Web Client until a message is sent. To prevent confusion, the presence indicators are now hidden until the conversation has been started.
• WEB-13964 After downloading configuration packages or backups, caregivers are unable to change their presence status. This is corrected by the addition of a download attribute that stops the websocket causing the issue from being closed.
• WEB-14074 For a department with a large amount of locations, loading times within Staff Assignment could take three to ten seconds to load.
• XMPP-1299 Messages sent in a new conversation after the first one are now marked delivered and the user receives a notification.
• XMPP-1364 When an alert is addressed to at least one disabled user and the disabled user is processed first, an error is generated when attempting to set up delivery tracking for the alert message. Now the notification will deliver to all recipients in the recipient list even when an error occurs on one of the deliveries.
• XMPP-1365 C1000 badges were playing notifications for missed group voicemail messages when there are no voicemails generated. This is corrected by a change to the regex to match the intended solution build.
• XMPP-1366 Patient linked conversations in XMPP became blank conversations once the system message linking the patient expired. Now the subject is regenerated if the patient is present. The XMPP client will use that as patient context.
• XMPP-1367 The Short Urgent Apnea Alarm ringtone was missing for Engage Rules. The sound has now been added to the Engage rule template.
• XMPP-1368 Messages pseudo-purged by conversation.message.max_age can lead to empty conversations. This is now fixed by changing default time to 89 days to reduce the difference between the full purge configuration and the relevant message evaluator.
• XMPP-1370 Call Log Conversations show as Unknown Caller in Vina. This is now fixed by changing default time to 89 days.
• XMPP-1385 Roster pushes are now sent to all sessions and an uncaught exception no longer causes the entire process to fail. Exceptions are caught and continue to send out roster pushes.

This section provides information about known product defects and limitations in the Vocera Platform 6.6.2.

• CRVC-22629 The genie persona (male or female) used for playing text messages via Text-to-Speech does not match the user-configured persona used for other genie interactions resulting in an inconsistent user experience.

• CRVC-23093 The Standby node restarts after a new user with a space character in either the beginning or end of the name. This occurs during Active Directory or CSV bulk imports.

• CRVC-23261 Voice data migrator can lead to users with duplicate XMPP identities.

  Version introduced: Vocera Platform 6.4.0

  Workaround: None.

• CRVC-23572 Large Voice data set backup may result in a timeout that results in multiple backup files created. No data loss resulted from this Audit log.

  Version introduced: Vocera Platform 6.3.3

  Workaround: Modify backup script timeout restriction from 60 seconds to 120. See KA9944 for instructions.

• CRVC-23854 If the PBX SIP trunk disconnects while the SIP signaling is being processed, the SIP stack may crash resulting in VSTG to restart to recover. This may disconnect active calls unexpectedly.

  Version introduced: Vocera Platform 6.5.0

  Workaround: None. The VSTG will restart automatically to re-establish Telephony service..

• CRVC-26569 A user on a P1 Signaling device does not receive urgent broadcast audio if this user was already in a call with another user, who is also a member of the broadcast group. This issue happens only when the user on the P1 device is in a different facility than the broadcast initiator.

• CRVC-26583 A user on a C1000 device can intermittently miss urgent broadcast audio if the C1000 user was already in a call with a user who was also a member of the broadcast group.

  Workaround: Press and hold the CALL button to trigger push-to-talk functionality to force the audio to stop and start.

• CRVC-27212 Broadcast MessageCall from Alert message causes a thread leak per invocation. This is caused when an alert comes in for legacy devices with no response options or when a VMI is broadcast to a group of users.

  Workaround: None.

• CRVC-27589 A large Platform Voice backup times out and is not included in overall backup archive.

  Workaround: Extend the Voice backup timeout.

• PFM-11104 When a site is deleted that has associated users, the site does not get deleted nor do the n-1 users. .

  Workaround: Contact Vocera Technical Support to delete the facility directly in the database.

• PFM-19116 Target group to group migration does not migrate required_role if it is not a system attribute.

  Version introduced: Vocera Platform 6.1.0.96

  Workaround: None.

• PFM-19117 Migration of 5.x groups created by VGS requires the Voice facility to exist in Platform.

• PFM-19806 VMP Adapter fails to start due to exportable_interface_settings value being null.

  Version introduced: Vocera Engage 5.5.7

  Workaround: Contact Technical Support to manually update the exportable_interface_settings value to be the same as other adapters in the interface_settings dataset.

• PFM-19855 Core and Audit databases can be removed if both nodes fail simultaneously.

• VCXP-15100 Genie will not respond to voice responses when the MCR alert has special chars included.

  Version introduced: Vocera Platform 6.5.0

  Workaround: Select the response from the device screen for Smartbadges and use the button option on the Minibadge instead of voice response.

• VCXP-16846 The standby server restarts when the Active node sends a prompt to the temp folder one the Standby server and the Standby server encounters an error when it tries to open the file. The standby server recovers as expected. There is no impact on the Active Server.

• VCXP-17786 When Enhanced Voice is enabled, the send reminder command does not support recognition of time as "midnight" or "noon". 12 AM or 12 PM is supported.

• VCXP-18170 Genie audio can unexpectedly use ports above the documented port range of 7500-8220.

• XMPP-1272 Users may be removed from groups if XMPP restart takes longer than a minute to reconnect badges.

• XMPP-1319 When the xmpp_cache Assignments table not in alignment with extension_prod Assignments table, extraneously large roster searches when looking in Staff Assignment can slow down the load time.
