About Multiple Speech Packs

Vocera enables you to customize Vocera Voice Server for different locales. When you install the Vocera Localization Suite, speech recognition behavior, genie prompts, and the telephony dial-plan are modified to reflect the locale conventions. Localization packs also assist with speech recognition by allowing you to adjust your environment with the selection of a single accent.

However, many environments require more than one English accent to be considered. In diverse environments like this, Vocera allows you to install the Vocera Multiple Speech Pack as well as a Vocera Localization Suite to extent the number of available accents to more than a single selection.

Restriction: With Vocera Multiple Speech Pack 1.2.0, Vocera supports the installation of 1 additional English accent on top of the localization pack at each location.

Installing the Vocera Multiple Speech Pack

Vocera enables you to run the Vocera Voice Server with more than one language or dialect.

Prerequisite: Perform the following:

  1. Install Vocera Voice Server.

    For more information on installing Vocera products and downloading the ISO image file, see Electronic Software Distribution and the Vocera Voice Server installation steps in the Vocera Installation Guide.

  2. Install the primary Localization Pack.

    For information on installing Localization Packs, see related Localization Pack release notes.

  3. Download the Multiple Speech Pack image file.

To launch the Vocera Multiple Speech Pack InstallShield Wizard:

  1. Log into the computer with administrator privileges.

  2. Navigate to the directory where you downloaded the Vocera Multiple Speech Pack.

  3. Click the MultiSpeechPack executable. The InstallShield Wizard for the Multiple Speech Pack is launched.

  4. Follow the prompts through the InstallShield Wizard and select the English accent that you want to install on top of the previously installed Localization Pack.

  5. Click Finish to exit the InstallShield Wizard.

Uninstalling the Vocera Multiple Speech Pack

The Vocera uninstaller is launched from the Windows Control panel utility, Programs and Features.

To uninstall the locale of your Vocera products:

  1. For Windows 2008 and Windows 2012, open the Windows Control Panel and select Programs and Features.

  2. Select Vocera Multiple Speech Pack from the list of displayed software removal options.

    The Vocera uninstaller is launched.

  3. Follow the prompts through the uninstaller Wizard.

  4. Click Finish to exit the uninstaller Wizard.
