Vocera allows you to customize Vocera Voice Server for different
locales. When you install the Vocera Localization Suite, conventions of a specific locale
are reflected in speech recognition behavior, genie prompts, accent preferences, date
formats, the telephony dial-plan, and other data.
These release notes contain information for all the locales supported by Vocera Voice Server (VS) and Vocera
Report Server (VRS) in the version 5.3.4 (HF1) release.
The following table shows the supported locale with the country code, language, local suite
versions, the base speech pack, whether the Multiple Speech Pack is available, and the
minimum VS
build number in which the locale is enabled. Each locale is provided in a separate
installer.

- Rotational speech pack for login recognition.
Vocera supports the
usage of speech packs in a rotation sequence to recognize the login
attempts.
- Vocera supports native enrollments.
The enrollment files for the
user are created based on the the accent speech pack of the user and updated when the
assigned Multiple Speech Pack (MSP) changes.
This section provides information about installation and upgrade of the Vocera
Localization Suite.
Installation Prerequisites
- Install an English-based language pack or optionally, a French language pack in the
case of the French Canadian locale, in the Windows server where you install Vocera
Voice Server and any subsequent Vocera localization packs.
- Install Vocera Voice Server
version for your locale or verify if you have installed the minimum Vocera Platform
build number required for each locale. See About the Vocera Localization Suite.
- Download the appropriate Localization Suite image file. See Electronic Software
Distribution section in the Vocera Installation Guide.
Launching Vocera Localization Suite
- Log into the computer with administrator privileges.
- After you install Vocera Voice Server, navigate
to the directory where you downloaded the Vocera Localization Suite.
- Click the VoceraLocalizer executable. The InstallShield Wizard for the Vocera
Localization Suite is launched.
- Follow the prompts through the Install Shield Wizard.
- Click Finish to exit the Install Shield Wizard.
Upgrading Vocera Localization Suite
If you are moving to a later version of the installed Vocera Voice Server with or
without the Multiple Speech Pack (MSP), perform the following:
- If applicable, uninstall the existing MSP.
Note: Before uninstalling the MSP, make a
note of the installed language packs.
- Uninstall the existing Localization Suite.
- Upgrade the Vocera Voice Server version. See Vocera Installation Guide.
- Install the new Localization Suite.
- If applicable, install the MSP with the language packs configured before the
uninstall.
- Restart the Vocera Voice Server.
Note: The backup files are restored if the locales are not changed during
upgrade. Contact Vocera Technical Support for assistance, if you want to change locales
during an upgrade. See the Vocera Installation Guide.
