Vocera allows you to customize Vocera Voice Server for different locales. When you install the Vocera Localization Suite, conventions of a specific locale are reflected in speech recognition behavior, genie prompts, accent preferences, date formats, the telephony dial-plan, and other data. These release notes contain information for all the locales supported by Vocera Voice Server (VS) and Vocera Report Server (VRS) in the version 5.3.1 release.

This table shows the supported locale with the country code, language, local suite versions, the base speech pack, whether the Multiple Speech Pack is available, and the minimum VS build number in which the locale is enabled. Each locale is provided in a separate installer.

This section summarizes the new features in this release.

• New locale packs

  The locale pack for Bahrain is added in this release.

Make sure you have installed the correct version of the Vocera Voice Server before installing the Localization Suite. Refer to the table in About the Vocera Localization Suite to see the minimum VS build number for each locale.

About this task (for upgrades only): This task is performed after you install Vocera Voice Server and you're moving to later version. If a language pack is installed in the previous version of Vocera, the backup restore will fail during the upgrade installation process since the installer is looking for an English locale. However, this is easily fixed by installing the new Localization Suite and rebooting the Vocera Voice Server. During the reboot, the backup files are restored. Prerequisites: Install Vocera Voice Server and download the appropriate Localization Suite image file. For more information on installing Vocera products and downloading the ISO image file, see the Chapter titled Electronic Software Distribution in the Vocera Installation Guide.

To launch the Vocera Localization Suite and change the locale for Vocera products:

1. Log into the computer with administrator privileges.

2. After you install Vocera Voice Server, navigate to the directory where you downloaded the Vocera Localization Suite.

3. Click the VoceraLocalizer executable. The InstallShield Wizard for the Vocera Localization Suite is launched.

4. Follow the prompts through the Install Shield Wizard.

5. Click Finish to exit the Install Shield Wizard.

This section provides information about fixes and improvements made in this release.

• Vocera Voice Server 5.2.2 and 5.2.3 with AU locale pronounces the word nurse poorly. Fixed in 5.3.1. (VCXP-6108)

• Vocera Voice Server 5.2.3 with NZ locale pronounces the word nurse poorly. (VCXP-6177) Fixed in 5.3.1, for GB, IE, AU, and NZ locales.

This section provides information about known product defects and limitations in the current release.

• Incorrect date format for Staff Assignment only - The date format shown in Staff Assignment when an Administrator is viewing the details of login sessions incorrectly displays as mm/dd/yyyy regardless of locale settings. (Issue CRVC-2988)

• Incorrect date format shown on Device Inventory Report - The date format shown in the Vocera Report Server Device Inventory Report incorrectly displays as mm/dd/yyyy regardless of locale settings. (Issue CRVC-15639)

• Nuance Recognizer (en-US) is not removed after VS Uninstall with QA Locale Pack - When the Vocera Voice Server product with the standard en_US locale is uninstalled, the Nuance Recognizer English en-US (10.0.2-10.0.0) is also uninstalled. However, when the Voice Server has an alternate locale pack applied (either directly or as part of a Multi-Speech Pack) the Voice Server's uninstall does not remove the Nuance Recognizer. (Issue VCXP-8041

  Workaround:The Nuance Recognizer must be removed separately from the Windows Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs following Voice Server uninstall.

• Vocera Voice Server Upgrade Fails when upgrading or restoring from backup moving from Version 4.4.4 to Version 5.3.1 because of missing file. The GpmMapping file is not being found during installation because it is in the wrong folder. The GpmMapping file in the GB locale pack contains the phoneme mapping used for enrollment conversion from Version 4.x to Version 5.x. (VCXP-8202)

  Workaround: If you are using the GB locale pack and use enrollments in your environment, copy the C:\vocera\nuance\Gpms\en_GB folder to the C:\vocera\nuance\Gpms\GB folder.
