Vocera allows you to customize Vocera Voice Server for different locales. When you install the Vocera Localization Suite, speech recognition behavior, genie prompts, accent preferences, date formats, the telephony dial-plan, and other data are modified to reflect the conventions of a specific locale. These release notes contain information for all the locales that the version 5.2.3 Vocera Voice Server (VS) and Vocera Report Server (VRS) releases support.

The table below provides the supported locale with the country code, language, local suite versions, the base speech pack, and the minimum VS build number in which the locale is enabled. Each locale is provided in a separate installer.

This section summarizes the new features in this release.

• New locale packs - South Korea (DS) and Landstuhl (LS) are now available.

• Deprecated locale packs - Malaysia (MY) and Singapore (SG) are no longer supported.

Make sure you have installed the correct version of the Vocera Voice Server before installing the Localization Suite. Refer to the table in About the Vocera Localization Suite to see the minimum VS build number for each locale.

About this task (for upgrades only): This task is performed after you install Vocera Voice Server and you're moving to later version. If a language pack is installed in the previous version of Vocera, the backup restore will fail during the upgrade installation process since the installer is looking for an English locale. However, this is easily fixed by installing the new Localization Suite and rebooting the Vocera Voice Server. During the reboot, the backup files are restored. Prerequisites: Install Vocera Voice Server and download the appropriate Localization Suite image file. For more information on installing Vocera products and downloading the ISO image file, see the Chapter titled Electronic Software Distribution in the Vocera Installation Guide.

To launch the Vocera Localization Suite and change the locale for Vocera products:

1. Log into the computer with administrator privileges.

2. After you install Vocera Voice Server, navigate to the directory where you downloaded the Vocera Localization Suite.

3. Click the VoceraLocalizer executable. The InstallShield Wizard for the Vocera Localization Suite is launched.

4. Follow the prompts through the Install Shield Wizard.

5. Click Finish to exit the Install Shield Wizard.

This section provides information about fixes and improvements made in this release.

• Fixed: When the Vocera Voice Server uses a locale other than en_US, and the system references a dictionary file created with en_US, users may experience excessive delays in speech recognition. This issue potentially affects large customers in the AE locale, and it is fixed in en_AE 1.2.2.250. (VCXP-6261)

  Important: If you have an existing database, you must perform some manual preparation before installing the en_AE 1.2.2.250 locale pack. Contact Vocera Customer Support for complete information.

This section provides information about known product defects and limitations in the current release.

• Incorrect date format for Staff Assignment only - The date format shown in Staff Assignment when an Administrator is viewing the details of login sessions incorrectly shows as mm/dd/yyyy regardless of locale settings. (Issue DE11335)

• For French Canadian locale only - Some of the Vocera Genie prompts, messages displayed on the badge, and console footers are not in the correct format. (Issue DE13715)
