These release notes contain unified information for all the locales that the 5.2.1 and later Vocera Voice Server (VS) and Vocera Report Server (VRS) release supports.

Vocera enables you to customize Vocera Voice Server for different locales. When you install the Vocera Localization Suite, speech recognition behavior, genie prompts, accent preferences, and the telephony dial-plan are modified to reflect the locale conventions.

The table below provides the supported locale with the country code, language, local suite versions, and lists the needed Vocera Voice Server Hot Fix.

• Fixed: Genie voice changing gender from female to male on some prompts - The Vocera Genie uses recorded messages wherever possible to prompt users. Where a recorded prompt does not exist, it employs a text to speech engine to enunciate the prompt. In the case of the locale packs for Australia, Great Britain, and New Zealand there is only a male voice for the text to speech engine. Therefore for these locales, if the user is empoying the female Vocera Genie persona, the voice may change genders from female to male and back. This will be addressed in a future version of these locales.(Issue US23705)

• Fixed : Incorrect date format for Vocera Report Server only - The report header may show an incorrect date format for mm/dd/yyyy for all locales. This issue will be addressed in a future release. (Issue DE11311)

Install the correct Vocera Voice Server Hot Fix. Refer to the table in Supported Locales for more information.

About this task (for upgrades only): This task is performed after you install Vocera Voice Server and you're moving to later version. If a language pack is installed in the previous version of Vocera, the backup restore will fail during the upgrade installation process since the installer is looking for an English locale. However, this is easily fixed by installing the new Localization Suite and rebooting the Vocera Voice Server. During the reboot, the backup files are restored. Prerequisites: Install Vocera Voice Server and download the appropriate Localization Suite image file. For more information on installing Vocera products and downloading the ISO image file, see the Chapter titled Electronic Software Distribution in the Vocera Installation Guide.

To launch the Vocera Localization Suite and change the locale for Vocera products:

1. Log into the computer with administrator privileges.

2. After you install Vocera Voice Server, navigate to the directory where you downloaded the Vocera Localization Suite.

3. Click the VoceraLocalizer executable. The InstallShield Wizard for the Vocera Localization Suite is launched.

4. Follow the prompts through the Install Shield Wizard.

5. Click Finish to exit the Install Shield Wizard.

This section provides information about known product defects and limitations in the current release.

Known defects:

• Incorrect date format for Staff Assignment only - The date format shown in Staff Assignment when an Administrator is viewing the details of login sessions incorrectly shows as mm/dd/yyyy regardless of locale settings. (Issue DE11335)

• For French Canadian locale only - During the restore operation, the progress dialog box doesn't properly update the status. Workaround: Close the dialog box to update the status. (Issue DE11853)
• For French Canadian locale only - Some of the Vocera Genie prompts, messages displayed on the badge, and console footers are not translated and will be presented in an English format. Workaround: None. (Issues DE13713, DE13716, and DE13724)
• For French Canadian locale only - Some of the Vocera Genie prompts, messages displayed on the badge, and console footers are not in the correct format. Workaround: None. (Issue DE13715)
• For French Canadian locale only - The Vocera Command poster has not been translated into French and therefore does not contain the latest 5x commands. Workaround: None.
