Learn about the new, fixed, and enhanced features to the Localization Suite for Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

• Fixed: Messages from the Vocera Messaging Platform to the Vocera Voice Server are truncated at 150 characters. – The entire message is now sent to the Vocera Voice Server. (US13456)
• Fixed: The standby node disconnects due to ‘Malformed input Around Byte 0’. – The standby server now handles this error and recovers without disconnecting. (US12540)
• Fixed : A race condition can cause the voice server to display an exception and restart when a user is in the “Add Me To Multiple Groups” command. – The server now properly handles the condition and does not restart. (DE5223)
• Fixed: Old Staff Assignment user sessions do not properly clean up memory and can cause a web services outage. – The memory is now properly freed and the outage is avoided. (DE7960)

Vocera enables you to customize the Vocera Voice Server for different locales. When you install the Vocera Localization Suite, speech recognition behavior, genie prompts, and the telephony dial-plan are modified to reflect the locale conventions.

If you are upgrading Vocera Voice Server and installing a Localization Suite: We recommend that you perform these tasks in the following order:

1. Uninstall the previous version of the Localization Suite.
2. Uninstall the previous version of the Vocera Voice Server.
3. Install Vocera Voice Server upgrade.
4. Install the latest version of the Localization Suite.

Prerequisite: Install Vocera Voice Server and download the appropriate Localization Suite image file. For more information on installing Vocera products, see the Chapter titled Electronic Software Distribution in the Vocera Installation Guide.

To launch the Vocera Localization Suite and change the locale for Vocera products:

1. Log into the computer with administrator privileges.

2. After you install Vocera Voice Server, navigate to the directory where you downloaded the Vocera Localization Suite.

3. Double-click the VS4.4.4_SpeechPack executable. The Install Shield Wizard for the Vocera Localization Suite is launched.

4. Follow the prompts through the Install Shield Wizard.

5. Click Finish to exit the Install Shield Wizard.

6. Restart the Vocera Voice Server.

7. After the Vocera Voice Server is running, log in to the Vocera Administrator Console.

8. Navigate to the Maintenance menu, then to the Update tab.

9. Click Empty under the Empty the Database heading to initialize the database with the newly installed locale.

The Vocera uninstaller is launched from the Windows Control panel utility, by selecting Programs and Features. After uninstalling the localization suite the Voice Server will be left in an inconsistent state and will require further action to restore functionality. Uninstalling the localization suite should only be done as part of an upgrade or full uninstall process.

Tip: When getting ready to upgrade to a newer version of the Vocera Voice Server, uninstall the locale pack first.

To uninstall the locale of your Vocera products:

1. For Windows 2008 and Windows 2012, open the Windows Control Panel and select Programs and Features.

2. Select Vocera Server Speech Pack from the list of displayed software removal options.

   The Vocera uninstaller is launched.

3. Follow the prompts through the uninstaller Wizard.

4. Click Finish to exit the uninstaller Wizard.

5. Restart the Windows Server after the application completes removing the Vocera Localization Suite.

The following list contains known product issues for the Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar Localization Suite:

• Timestamp & Datestamp of Vmessages not playing correctly in 4.4.x Localization Packs - When users play back voice messages the am / pm portion of the time and date are not enunciated. This issue will be addressed in a later release of Vocera Voice Server product. (DE9425).
