What's New, Fixed or Enhanced
Learn about the new and enhanced features, and fixes to the 5.1 Vocera Localization
Suite.
There are no new features, fixes, or enhancements in this release.
Installing the Vocera Localization Suite
Vocera enables you to customize the Vocera Voice Server and the Vocera Report Server
for different locales. When you install the Vocera Localization Suite, speech recognition
behavior, genie prompts, and the telephony dial-plan are modified to reflect the locale
conventions.
About this task (for upgrades only): This task is performed
after you install Vocera Voice Server or Vocera Reports Server and
you are moving to later version. If a localization pack is installed in the previous
version of Vocera, the backup restore will fail during the upgrade installation
process since the installer is looking for an English locale. However, this is
easily fixed by installing the new Localization Suite and rebooting the
Vocera Voice Server. During the reboot, the backup files are restored. For more information on
Vocera upgrades and installations, see the Vocera Installation
Guide.
Note: Changing locales during an upgrade is not supported as part of the
Localization Suite installation process since this will cause another backup restore
failure. If you want to change the locales between upgrades, please contact the
Vocera Technical Support for assistance.
Prerequisite: Install Vocera Voice Server or the Report Server and download
the appropriate Localization Suite image file. For more information on installing
Vocera products and downloading the ISO image file, see the Chapter titled
Electronic Software Distribution in the Vocera Installation
Guide.
To launch the Vocera Localization Suite and change the locale for Vocera products:
-
Log into the computer with administrator privileges.
-
After you install Vocera Voice Server or Report Server, navigate to the
directory where you downloaded the Vocera Localization Suite.
-
Click the VoceraLocalizer executable. The InstallShield Wizard for the
Vocera Localization Suite is launched.
-
Follow the prompts through the Install Shield Wizard.
-
Click Finish to exit the Install Shield Wizard.
Uninstalling the Vocera Localization Suite
The Vocera uninstaller is launched from the Windows Control panel utility,
Programs and Features. When you uninstall a Localization
Suite, the application launched after you select Vocera from Programs and Features
reverts the server locale back to US English.
To uninstall the locale of your Vocera products:
-
For Windows 2008 and Windows 2012, open the Windows Control
Panel and select Programs and Features.
-
Select Vocera Voice Localization Suite from the list of displayed
software removal options.
The Vocera uninstaller is launched.
Warning: The server is stopped during Vocera
software removal and empties the database.
-
Follow the prompts through the uninstaller Wizard.
-
Click Finish to exit the uninstaller Wizard.
-
Restart the Windows Server after the application completes removing the Vocera
Localization Suite.
Note: If you receive an error message related to a failed restore, simply
restart the
Vocera Voice Server. This error occurs when data from the previous
locale remains in the backup directory. Restarting the
Vocera Voice Server empties
the database from the previous installation and allows you to begin using
Vocera with fresh database in the US English locale.
