Vocera Edge, a cloud-based solution for smartphones, enhances care team mobility and simplifies the work at the point of care through effective, reliable clinical workflows and communication. With Vocera Edge, clinicians can document to the EHR while receiving filtered, prioritized alarm and task notifications. Physicians can easily locate and communicate with the nurse and team members supporting their patients, saving time with each connection.

Allow Cellular Calling Extensions for 10-digit Internal Extensions
Description: Edge now supports the dialing of 10-digit numbers for Cellular Extension Dialing. Users can now dial 10-digit internal extensions from off-premises and BYOD devices.

New Checkbox to Provision Extensions
Description: A new Extension can be provisioned checkbox has been added to the Voice Systems Extension Range settings.
Configuration and Maintenance: Go to Enterprise Manager > Settings > Voice Systems, select a voice system, then click Edit in the Extension Ranges section. The new checkbox is available on the Extension Range details screen.
Filter the Available Extension Ranges when Provisioning Extensions
Description: You can filter the available extension ranges when provisioning extensions for a caregiver based on the provisioning flag set in the Voice System settings.
Configuration and Maintenance: Based on the status of the new Extension can be provisioned checkbox, a caregiver's account displays only the ranges that are available for provisioning. To see the available extensions, go to Enterprise Manager > Configuration > Caregiver, and then select a caregiver. In the caregiver's account, open User Account, and then click Edit for an extension in the Vocera Edge Extensions table.
Security Updates
Description: Edge Server 4.11.12 contains multiple security improvements. Stryker Vocera strongly recommends updating to the Edge Server 4.11.12 release.

Disable Calling and Messaging When Offline or Busy
Description: Edge can be configured to prevent users from calling or messaging offline or busy caregivers using Cellular-enabled or BYOD devices. When a user contacts the caregiver, Edge displays a "Communication Restricted" message stating that the caregiver cannot be messaged or called until they are online.
Configuration and Maintenance: To enable this feature:
To include Busy caregivers, go to Enterprise Manager > Settings > Security > Advanced Settings. Update the Include Busy for Disable Comms setting to true.
Updated Password Length Requirements for Local Users
Description: The minimum password length requirements for local users have been updated:

Capture and Relay Logs of Notifications When the Edge Mobile App is Sleeping
Description: Edge now captures and relays logs of notifications when the Edge Mobile app is sleeping to clearly show the receipt of APNS notifications and confirm if they are displayed to users immediately.

QGenda On-Call Instructions
Description: When contact information is provided for an on-call user, this information should be accessible from the Vocera Edge Clinical app. This enables a caregiver to get in touch without delay.

EDGE-3668 Vocera Edge Clinical Manager no longer handles large delete requests as single transactions, because they took an excessive amount of time and blocked other transactions. To reduce the amount of time it takes to handle a large delete request, the Clinical Manager now breaks up the delete transaction into smaller, configurable-sized chunks and executes them within their own separate transactions.
