Minibadge is a lightweight, hands-free device that you can operate using your voice. You
can use the Minibadge as a standalone device or smartphone companion. Using the
Minibadge, you can place and receive calls, listen and respond to messages and alarm
notifications.
Before installing this firmware, ensure that one of the following Vocera product is
installed:
- Vocera Platform
6.5.0 or later
- Vocera Voice Server 5.6.0 or later

This section summarizes the new features in the Vocera Minibadge release.
Features Supported on Vocera Platform 6.6 and Vocera Voice Server 5.8
- When a Minibadge user calls a group, the name of the person answering the call is
enunciated before the call is connected.
- When a Minibadge user receives a new call during an active call, the user can press the
DND/Hold button to put the active call on hold and hear the name of the new caller before
deciding to accept the new call or return to the original call.
- A new property has been introduced to control the enunciation of all messages on the
Minibadge.
- The Play Messages command has been enhanced to provide the user with additional context
about unread voice and text messages and also assists the user in message playback.
- The Minibadge now supports three-party conference dialog flow.
Features Supported only on Vocera Platform 6.6
- The Minibadge users can now pair their device with the smartphone VINA app using Bluetooth
and control the Minibadge settings such as Wakeup word and Group mode.
- When a Minibadge user presses the DND/Hold button during a panic call, the Minibadge
automatically enunciates the location and name of the initiator.
Features Supported only on Vocera Voice Server 5.8
- Support for French prompt—Notifications and warnings are enunicated in French when
Minibadge is configured for using French Canadian language pack.
