The Vocera HL7 Adapter is used to connect with an existing HL7 capable system. By creating multiple HL7 adapter instances, an installation can allow for communication with different departments and system types within a single facility.

A Vocera HL7 Adapter is used to communicate with any other system or database that is HL7 capable. It brings the pertinent information, such as lab results, to the Vocera Platform and stores those events in the Data Manager. This information is then potentially later sent to the recipient database of that HL7 message based upon appliance configurations. The content of the message varies depending on the HL7 configuration in the appliance, but an HL7 message may include data such as patient information and history, lab results, and radiology reports.

The Adapter now no longer regenerates alarms for externally managed states upon receiving repeated inactive alarms. The fix involves preventing repeating inactive alerts from being added to the cache for repeated alarms, ensuring that the adapter adheres to the configured repeat interval and does not regenerate alerts after receiving inactive messages. The Adapter now correctly cancels previously active alerts during re-creation, addressing an issue where subsequent cancels were not using the updated clinical_id. (ADP-11400)

What's Fixed in the Vocera HL7 Adapter 1.12.3 Release

The following issues have been fixed in this release:

(ADP-12398) In some instances the password for the Private Key, located in the Outbound Connection, could be automatically filled in when saving the adapter. This caused the adpater to error out when failing over. This has been corrected.
(ADP-12517) In the Message Definition, the OBX-5 field was misconfigured. Messages were unable to be matched and were failing silently. This has been corrected.

What's Fixed in the Vocera HL7 Adapter 1.12.2 Release

The following issues have been fixed in this release:

(ADP-11685) The HL7 Adapter was sending an ArrayIndexOutOfBounds Exception when matching message definitions to HL7 messages with empty segments.
This has been corrected.
