The Spacelabs adapter integrates alarm details from Spacelabs patient monitors with additional information provided by the facility to deliver a more complete context to caregiver devices responding to patient alerts. Multiple adapter instances are supported, however, each instance requires a separate Spacelabs server host and port. The adapter connects to the Spacelabs server to enable communication between Vocera and Spacelabs.

The SpaceLabs CEI adapter allows for delivering a waveform image as additional content for alerts. In order to support an integration with waveforms, the adapter must be configured to store waveforms.
When the adapter is configured to store waveforms every alarm that is received, and has waveform information, will store the waveform image data into the Waveforms Dataset. In order to provide this information via VCS or Vina, the adapter provides a URL for use in the Platform rules located on the interface details page. This URL can be copied directly into an outbound rule for delivery to a device. When the an alert is sent to the device, the user selects the URL and is sent to a browser view where the waveform and related information can viewed.
