The Vocera Clinical API Adapter is responsible for publishing staff assignments and device assignments to external system based on our Clinical API specification.
The Vocera Clinical API Adapter is an API, or Application Programming Interface, that is written to be agnostic in terms of where it receives data. This allows Vocera and our partners to quickly create adapters to interfaces such as Hill-Rom NaviCare. This adapter will then receive a stream of information which allows the facility to assign staff and devices as needed.
This section summarizes the new features in this release.
The Clinical API 1.1.0 adapter provides the following new features:
The adapter now publishes room, unit, and facility-level assignments. Previously, the adapter published bed-level assignments only. If the location has linked places (bed, room, unit, or facility), then the adapter publishes the assignment for all linked places. If there are no linked placed, the adapter publishes the assignment for the location with no place information. (ADP-10888)
The adapter now publishes patient-centric assignments. The adapter configuration shows a new "Publish Patient Assignments" checkbox to support this feature. The adapter subscribes to create and update events on the Patient Assignments dataset, publishing and retrieving them via the GET inventory request. (ADP-11085)
When the adapter has a configured Source of Truth and the assignment being published is owned by the Source of Truth adapter, then the adapter users the linked alias for the PlaceIdentities dataset for the places (bed, room, unit, and facility) associated with the assignment. If no linked alias is found for the Source of Truth adapter, then the normal value (bed number, room, number, unit name, or facility name) for the place is used. (ADP-11113)
