• Call status displayed when unavailable

  You can now tap the Call icon or the Genie icon to display why calling is unavailable.

• Third-party Dialer Options Available*

  The Vocera Vina app can be optionally configured to use a third-party dialing option instead of using the Vocera Genie. The app can also be configured to disable calling and enable messages only.

• Expanded Phone Extension Capabilities

  You can supply a phone number or extension for your device. This number can be between 2 and 15 digits long.

• New and Read Conversations

  On your Home screen, conversations are organized into New and Read sections. This enables you to view unread conversations more easily. These conversation sections can be expanded or hidden. When hidden, the number of conversations in the section is displayed.

• New Messages Indicated in Conversations

  If you return to a conversation that you have left, new messages that have appeared while you were away are placed below a New banner in the chat log. This enables you to quickly catch up on your conversation.

• Copy and Paste Supported

  You can now copy message text from a conversation to your device clipboard. You can then paste it into another app on your device. When sending a message, you can paste text from the clipboard into the message field.

• Coverage Request Ending Notification

  When a coverage request period is about to expire, both the person doing the covering and the person being covered are now sent a notification.

• Message Details in Conversations

  For each message in a conversation, you can now view details of who sent and received the message.

• Callback From Voicemail Message

  If a voicemail message is the last message that has been sent to you in a conversation, you can now tap the conversation link in the Home screen to call the person that left you the voicemail.

• Favorites List Now Expandable

  In the New Chat or New Call screen, the list of favorites can now be expanded or hidden.

• Messaging-Only Option

  You can now configure Vina to provide messaging only. In this configuration, the calling capability is disabled.

• Recent Archive Time Period Now Explicit

  The amount of time that archived conversations are considered recent is now explicitly specified. This time period is normally 48 hours but can be configured.

• Login Not Required When App Terminated

  If you terminate Vina and restart it, the app no longer times out on the Login screen. The Home screen now appears, and a "Loading" message is displayed until the app can re-establish a server connection. You now do not need to log in again.

No product behavior changes in this release.

• Call icon color changes

  The color of the call icon that is displayed in a conversation or when you tap on a profile picture or initials is now one of the following:

  • Red: all participants in the conversation are online but unavailable except for urgent calls
  • Green: all other conditions

  In previous releases, the call icon was blue for multi-person conversations and gray when the intended recipient was offline.

• UC-16542 If a PIN is enabled for your Vina app, a session timeout now causes the PIN entry screen to appear instead of the password entry screen.

• UC-16744 Broadcasts now use the speaker instead of the handset.

• UC-16798 When the Vina app is placed in the background and then returned to the foreground, the XMPP connection is now successfully re-established and the Start Chat button is enabled.

• UC-16899 The keypad now appears along with the PIN popup when the Vina app is moved from the background to the foreground.

• UC-16944 When you have sent a message to a user with which you have not previously communicated, you leave the conversation without reading the message, and then you view the archived conversation, the username of the user to which you sent the message is now correctly displayed.

• UC-17027 If you tap the My Number field to edit it, the value of the number is now not saved on the device if it is not changed.

• UC-9836 If you compose message text to send in a conversation but first send a photo, the message text is no longer lost.

• UC-11470 When a panic call is sent to a Vina app that has been killed, the panic call no longer fails.

• UC-12043 On some devices and some Apple iOS operating systems, if you are required to enter a PIN because the specified time period has elapsed, the device keyboard now appears, and you are not logged out of Vina when you tap the PIN text box.

• UC-13629 When you are starting a call or chat, and you tap a group name to display a list of available options, the Call icon is now correctly displayed with a green background.

• UC-14590 When you specify a user, group, or phone number to which your calls are to be forwarded, the presence screen now displays this correctly.

• UC-14761 On devices that are using iOS version 14 or later, the popups that request local network access do now appear on installation.

• UC-15137 Devices without Wi-Fi that have a null IP address now cause a more meaningful error message to be displayed in the Vocera Platform status monitor.

• UC-15145 If you have terminated your Vina app and then receive a notification, the app no longer crashes when you tap the notification.

• UC-15741 If your Wi-Fi connection is disconnected while you are being logged in, the login process now works properly when your connection is restored.

• UC-15746 Off-premises cellular calls were failing due to an error in the call request sent from the server. This has now been fixed.

• UC-16091 When Vina is in the background and you receive an alert that you have not responded to, and the server sends the alert notification again, the re-sent notification is now properly displayed.
