Vocera Vina is a smartphone app that optimizes patient safety by helping clinicians to make decisions in real-time.

With Vocera Vina, you can:

• See the most important communications first with ranking by priority.
• Easily triage the importance of incoming communication and form a meaningful picture of a situation quickly to inform clinical decision making.
• Find people quickly, even across a geographically dispersed organization; communicate faster and more easily.
• Allow uninterrupted focus on critical patient-care activities.
• Enable the whole care team to see the full history of calls, messages, and alarms pertaining to a patient or event, linked within a single conversational thread.
• Drive accountability and responsibility with an audit trail for messages.

• Messaging can be disabled

  Your system can now be configured to disable Vina messaging for selected groups of users. You can also specify that third-party messaging is to be used. This is useful if your facility already has a secure texting method in use but wants to use Vina's alarm management, care team, and calling capabilities.

• Disabling the mute override option now supported

  Your system can now be configured to allow selected groups of users to completely mute all notification tones from Vina. This is useful for physicians who are performing sensitive patient care and do not want to be interrupted.

• Vina can now be used with badges in Dual Mode

  You can now log into Vina while you are logged into the Vocera Smartbadge or the Vocera Badge. This Dual Mode capability enables you to send and receive hands-free calls and alarms on your badge while using Vina for text messaging. Calls and alerts are displayed in Vina for future access.

• New classic ringtone for hard of hearing

  A new ringtone that is easier to hear is now available. The XMPP adapter can be configured to use this classic ringtone for alerts, incoming calls, or any other notification.

• Coverage request can now be sent to a group

  When you are requesting coverage, you can now specify that a group is to cover for you. To do this, select the group and then tap a member of the group. If this group member goes offline for more than 30 seconds, another group member takes over the coverage.

• Philips Care Assist integration now available

  If the Philips Care Assist app is installed on devices at your facility, it can now be integrated with Vina. Data from this app can now be displayed for any patient that is assigned to a user or is the context of a group chat if the Vocera Platform server is configured to support this.

You must be using a supported device and operating system to be able to run Vocera Vina.

The following device and operating system combinations are supported:

• Zebra TC51 with Android operating system version 8.1 and later
• Zebra TC52 with Android operating system version 8.1 and later
• Zebra TC21 with Android operating system 10
• Zebra TC52X with Android operating system 10
• Spectralink V92 with Android operating system 10
• Spectralink V95 with Android operating system 8.1 and later
• Samsung devices with Android operating system 8.1 and later
• Google Pixel devices with Android operating system 8.1 and later

Vocera Vina should be designed and coded to function on the majority of BYOD devices that use Android 8.1 and later. However, these devices cannot be tested, and thus voice performance cannot be guaranteed, features function cannot be guaranteed, and use for regulated alarms on devices not on the supported list is not supported.

• UC-17525 When receiving a call on a Zebra TC21 device, the call is now no longer re-initiated and sound flows normally.

• UC-19165 Pressing and holding a call icon in a conversation now correctly displays the Place Urgent Call option.

• UC-19835 If you are using a Zebra TC51 or TC52, your app no longer crashes when setting startup permissions.

This release includes the following known issues and limitations for versions of Vocera Vina running on Android operating systems.

• UC-9008 If you have set your device's Do Not Disturb setting, a notification from Vina may disappear shortly after it appears.

• UC-10154 Due to device limitations, the buttons on Zebra devices cannot be configured to send panic broadcasts at the present time.
