Vocera Vina is a smartphone app that optimizes patient safety by helping clinicians to make decisions in real-time.

Browser-based installation

You can now install Vocera Vina from your browser using the URL https://vina.vocera.io.
Improved API interface

If your application is using the Vocera Vina API interface, you can now use the prefix https://vina.vocera.io/ when accessing the interface.
Third-party logout now supported

When you are accessing Vocera Vina from the API interface, you can now log out from the Vina app.
Disallowed password strings now supported

The vocera.disallowed-passwords parameter in the XMPP adapter now enables you to specify a regular expression that, if matched, disallows a user's login password. For example, you can specify that a password that is all digits is disallowed.
Phone links in conversations displayed more clearly

In a conversation, if a call log entry includes a phone number or name, it is now displayed in blue to make it easier to find.
Conversation started after placing a call

If you place a call to another user and the call is ended, a conversation is now started or continued between you and that user.
Context now displayed on outgoing call from conversation

If you place a call from within a conversation that has a context, the context is now displayed on the outgoing call screen.

Search result section header change

In search results, the Groups section header is now named Groups & Roles.
Ending coverage

When you are available again and no longer need coverage, the option that you tap in the Presence screen is now named End Coverage instead of Resume Coverage. This makes it clear that coverage has ended.
Hiding notifications of conversations

If you no longer want to participate in a conversation, you now tap the Hide or Hide Notifications option, where available, instead of the Leave option.
Tap and hold to place an urgent call or broadcast

Vina now places normal calls and broadcasts by default. To place an urgent call or broadcast, tap and hold a call or broadcast option.

Device Requirements

You must be using a supported device and operating system to be able to run Vocera Vina.

The following device and operating system combinations are supported:

Zebra TC51 with Android operating system version 6.0 and later
Zebra TC52 with Android operating system version 8.1 and later

Zebra TC52X with Android operating system 10
Spectralink V92 with Android operating system 10

Vocera Vina should be designed and coded to function on the majority of BYOD devices that use Android 8 and later. However, these devices cannot be tested, and thus voice performance cannot be guaranteed, features function cannot be guaranteed, and use for regulated alarms on devices not on the supported list is not supported.

UC-19964 When Vina is configured to use a third-party dialer, the Accept & Call button is now properly displayed when you receive an alarm.
UC-19966 When Vina is configured to use a third-party dialer, you can now call a patient's room.

Fixed Issues in Version 10.1.0

UC-18784 Cross-site broadcasts to multicast IP addresses now have their audio working properly.
UC-18986 When you are using Vina on an Android device while off-premises, attempting to contact the Vocera Genie now correctly dials the direct access number.

Known Issues

This release includes the following known issues and limitations for versions of Vocera Vina running on Android operating systems.

UC-9008 If you have set your device's Do Not Disturb setting, a notification from Vina may disappear shortly after it appears.
UC-10154 Due to device limitations, the buttons on Zebra devices cannot be configured to send panic broadcasts at the present time.
UC-19835 If you are using a Zebra TC51 or TC52 and your app crashes when setting startup permissions, manually change the Battery Optimization setting on your device to "Don't optimize" and change the Do Not Disturb setting to "Allow Do Not Disturb".
