The Vocera Messaging Platform (VMP) provides an enterprise
messaging solution designed to address the unique communication challenges of
healthcare. Users can leverage the communication capabilities of VMP from the Vocera Collaboration Suite, Vocera Secure Texting, the VMP Web Console,
and the Vocera badge and Smartbadge.

Before you can install this release of the Vocera Messaging Platform, you must install version 5.6 or
later of the Vocera Voice Server and version 5.0.6 or
later of the Vocera Smartbadge firmware. See the Known
Issues section of these release notes for more details.
This release includes the following new features and functionality.

New option for forwarding messages to distribution lists
A new option in the VMP Administrator can specify that if a user has
forwarded messages to a distribution list, this list receives a copy of all messages sent
to existing conversations that include the forwarding user in addition to new
conversations.

Windows Server 2022 validated
VMP has now been validated for use with Windows Server
2022.
The following list contains fixes and improvements made to version 5.9.0 of Vocera Messaging Platform.
CMSG-14271 In the VMP Web Console, the panel containing the
list of conversations can now be resized when the browser is not in full-screen mode.
CMSG-14339 If a user who has left a conversation returns to it, all users who
have left the conversation are now not returned.

CMSG-14426 In the VMP Web Console, if you open a template whose
fields are all required and then open a template with optional fields, the optional fields
are no longer marked as required.

CMSG-14465 When the VMP Server is disconnected from the
Vocera Voice Server and a Vocera Smartbadge user logs out while
the server is disconnected, the logout is now properly indicated when the server is
reconnected.

CMSG-14466 If a Vocera Smartbadge user starts a login sequence but
does not complete it, the VMP Server no longer indicates that
the user is logged in.

CMSG-14494 The voice enunciation information that the VMP Server sends to the Vocera Voice Server with each
text message is now compatible with versions 5.7 and earlier of the Vocera Voice Server.
CMSG-14535, CMSG-14580 If the VMP Server loses its SQL
connection, it now does not send wakeup notifications to iOS devices in SE mode.

CMSG-14563 When you are creating a new message in the VMP Web Console, if you type a sequence of characters in the recipient
field, scroll to the bottom of the returned search results, and then scroll back up, you
can now select a recipient from the results.
CMSG-14566 Multiple concurrent SOAP requests no longer fail due to closed SQL
connections.
CMSG-14634 The condition that occasionally caused a
"VoceraNotificationConnection: Error converting data type varchar to bigint" message to
appear in the VMP logs has now been fixed.
CMSG-14690 The patient date of birth is now displayed properly in the VMP Web Console.
CMSG-14416, CMSG-14550, CMSG-14451 The VMP Server now
sends fewer error messages as email alerts.

CMSG-14773 In the VMP Web Console, if you send a mass
alert with a large message body and many multiple-choice responses, the scroll
bar may disappear if the browser size has been reduced. Maximizing the browser
window resolves this problem.
