• Minimum device inactivity timeout interval is now 20 minutes

  The "Device inactivity timeout interval" configuration option in the VMP Administrator now has a minimum setting of 20 minutes to ensure that off-premises devices are not given a status of "not available". If you have set this option to a value lower than 20 minutes, it is automatically set to 20 minutes when you upgrade to version 5.8 of VMP.

No new product features in this release.

• Vocera Collaboration Suite users can pair with Vocera C1000 Minibadge

  A new configuration option in the VMP Administrator enables Vocera Collaboration Suite users to pair with Vocera C1000 Minibadge devices using Bluetooth to provide advanced feature control.

• Automatic mechanism for retrieving APNS and FCM keys

  If the APNS or FCM key for your VMP Server is revoked, the server now automatically retrieves and activates a new key. This ensures that there will be no extended outage.

• Message history setting now affects both runtime and archived databases

  The "Retain Message History in Database" configuration option in the VMP Administrator now specifies the length of time that messages are retained in the VMP archived message database in addition to the runtime message database.

• System messages can now optionally trigger notifications on clients

  A new configuration option in the VMP Administrator enables you to specify that system messages trigger notifications when received on clients. Examples of system messages are when a user is added or removed from a conversation.

• FCM HTTP v1 API now in use

  VMP now uses the Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) HTTP v1 API. This provides better security and more efficient customization of messages across platforms, and it also is more extendable for future client versions.

• CMSG-14566 Multiple concurrent SOAP requests no longer fail due to closed SQL connections.

• CMSG-11713 In the VMP on-call schedule module, it is now no longer possible to use the modify shift function to accidentally overlap two shifts containing the same on-call assignee.

• CMSG-13801 If you are logging into the Vocera V5000 Smartbadge and Vocera Collaboration Suite at the same time, you can now always set Do Not Disturb on the Smartbadge.

• CMSG-13831 When searching for contacts or typing a message in the VMP Web Console, text is now always displayed properly.

• CMSG-13859 If a Vocera Voice Server group is configured to be a non-textable Distribution List and the group is then removed from the Vocera Voice Server, user synchronization is now completed properly.

• CMSG-13862 If you are using a version of Vocera Voice Server prior to version 5.6.0 or a version of Vocera Smartbadge firmware prior to version 5.0.6, you now hear tones properly on the Vocera Smartbadge when a new message is received.

• CMSG-13919 A signal handler thread in the VMP Server is now no longer blocked when the list of Vocera Client Gateway servers is updated.

• CMSG-14012 If the only on-call user in a distribution list is removed from a source of users and the server is auto-synchronized, users in the distribution list who have edit permission are now notified.

• CMSG-14294 When the VMP Server sends a request related to Vocera Secure Texting to the Vocera Voice Server, the URL that it sends is now in a format that the Tomcat NIO endpoint understands.
