The Vocera Messaging Platform (VMP) provides an enterprise messaging solution designed to address the unique communication challenges of healthcare. Users can leverage the communication capabilities of VMP from the Vocera Collaboration Suite, Vocera Secure Texting, the VMP Web Console, and the Vocera badge and Smartbadge.
Before you can install this release of the Vocera Messaging Platform, you must install version 5.6 or later of the Vocera Voice Server and version 5.0.6 or later of the Vocera Smartbadge firmware. See the Known Issues section of these release notes for more details.
This release includes the following new features and functionality.

SAML support
New options in the VMP Enterprise Manager enable the use of SAML authentication. IDP settings can be retrieved by loading metadata and VMP Web Console users can sign-on using the external IDP service.

VCS consent banner
A new option in the VMP Administrator allows you to define a consent banner for VCS.

Maximum number of sessions per user
A new option in the VMP Enterprise Manager specifies an optional maximum number of VMP Web Console login sessions per user.

Login date and time tracked
When a user logs in to the VMP Web Console, it now displays the date and time of the last previous login.

Secure interaction with Vocera Voice Server
VMP now uses an HTTPS client certificate to interact with the Vocera Voice Server.
