What's New

This release includes the following new features and functionality.

Device Support for Vocera Collaboration Suite 3.0.3

Vocera Collaboration Suite version 3.0.3 provides support for any of the following devices running iOS 8.1 and later:

Some of the features of Vocera Collaboration Suite version 3.0.x are provided on the Apple Watch.

Server Compatibility

Vocera Collaboration Suite 3.0.3 clients require VMP Server 5.1.0 for full functionality. When a Vocera Collaboration Suite 3.0.3 client is connected to VMP Server version 4.9.2 to version 4.9.4, the client uses version 2.0.2 backward compatibility mode to interact with the server.

Important: If your environment is using VMP Server 4.9.4 or earlier, the Apple Watch will always indicate that the number of new messages is zero, as the watch does not support the Alert and Chat capabilities provided on older versions of the server.

Vocera Voice Server 4.4.1 or later is required. If your organization is using Vocera Voice Server departments and synchronizing them with VMP groups, Vocera Voice Server 5.1 or later must be installed.

VMP Server 5.1 does not support message templates in which one or more recipients are Escalation Distribution Lists and other recipients are regular users. Only one Escalation Distribution List can be listed as a recipient, and it must be the only recipient.

What's Fixed

This release includes the following fixes:

Known Issues

This release includes the following known issues and limitations for versions of the Vocera Collaboration Suite running on Apple iOS operating systems.

  1. Second breakthrough call received without chime. If you are in a call, and you receive an incoming urgent call, broadcast, or urgent broadcast that breaks through your existing call, the new call is automatically answered without a notification chime. (DE7800)

  2. One-way audio intermittently occurs on calls. Occasionally, a Wi-Fi connection failure on SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) registration causes your device to be connected to a Vocera Client Gateway server that is not in the list of VCG servers associated with the access point to which you are currently connected. This causes audio on the call to become one-way: you can hear your caller, but your caller cannot hear you. This connection failure may also result in devices being incorrectly indicated as being off network. This problem will be fixed in version 3.1 of Vocera Collaboration Suite for iOS. (DE10042, DE10673)

  3. Application freezes on iOS 10 devices when Return key pressed in Subject line of new text message. If you are running Vocera Collaboration Suite on the iOS 10 operating system, and you create a new text message, the app locks up when you type text in the Subject line and tap the Return key on your keyboard. This problem does not occur when using earlier versions of iOS, and will be fixed in version 3.1 of Vocera Collaboration Suite for iOS. (DE12054)

  4. Camera may launch with black screen (iOS 10+). If your device is running iOS 10+, there is a possibility that the camera provided with the device may launch with a black screen. To work around this problem, switch to the Video tab and then back to the Photo tab. (DE12490)
