This release includes the following important changes:
- iPhone 4 not supported in this release. This version of the Vocera Collaboration Suite is not
supported on the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4S is still supported.
This release includes the following new features and functionality:
- Smarter search now available. When you search in your Favorites list in the Contacts module, a count of the matches found in the Contacts list is also displayed.
Similarly, when you search in your Favorites list in the Alert and Chat modules, a count of the matches found in the All list is displayed.
In either case, you can tap on this message count to display the list of matches. To hide the keyboard when viewing the list of search results, tap the Search
key on your keyboard or scroll the list.
- Separate tone specifications for different notification types. You can now specify a separate tone for
each of the Call, Alert, Chat, Alert Response, and New Content notifications.
- Content module now available. The Content module stores documents created by your organization directly on your device. This
provides access to crucial information such as disaster or emergency preparedness plans.
- Alert response notification now available. When you create and send an Alert, you can specify that you are to receive a response
notification when a number of users have responded to the Alert within an indicated time. You can also specify that you are to receive a
negative response notification if these criteria are not met. This enables you to ensure that an Alert has been acknowledged by some or all of its intended recipients.
- Bluetooth support now available for Call module. If Bluetooth is activated on your device, you can use it to listen to a Call
or communicate with the Genie.
- Onscreen help now available for some screens. Some screens in the Vocera Collaboration Suite
now offer onscreen help that provides a quick summary of the capabilities of that screen.
- Mass Alert capability now provided. If you need to send an Alert to more than 200 recipients, this Alert is automatically
defined to be a Mass Alert. When viewing a sent or received Mass Alert, the list of recipients is not displayed on the client
but is available from the VMP Web Console.
- Alert subjects and Chat messages optionally not displayed in notifications. Server settings now control whether
to display an Alert subject or Chat message text in the screen that notifies you that you have received a new communication.
This enables you to ensure that confidentiality is not violated.
- Dual Mode Calls now routed to badge. If you are using a badge and the app in Dual Mode, and you initiate a Call
from the app, the call is connected through the badge.
- Push to Talk capability enhanced. In instant conferences and broadcasts, you can now tap the Push to Talk button
to request to talk. The button text or color changes to notify you either that you can begin talking or that the line is busy.
- Unread counts displayed in Menu screen. The icons for the Chat, Alert, and Call modules now display
a count of the number of unread or unheard messages.
- PIN access can now be specified. The system administrator can now specify that you must
supply a four-digit PIN to access the app after you log in. You can also set an option to supply a PIN if
the system does not require one.

-
Incoming Alert popup buttons now affected by "Remind me Later" profile option.

now read "View" and "View Later". If this option is not set, the button options are
"Close" and "View". (23738)
This release includes the following known issues and limitations for versions of the Vocera Collaboration Suite
running on Apple iOS operating systems.
- Non-A2DP headsets not supported. In this release, non-A2DP headsets are not supported for use with
the Vocera Collaboration Suite.
- Cannot double-tap Call button to initiate Panic Call on iPhone 5.
If you are using an iPhone 5 and you are in the Call module,
you cannot double-tap the Call button to initiate a Panic Call.
To initiate a Panic Call, you must tap Special Actions and select
Panic Call from the pop-up menu that appears. This behavior has
been observed on an iPhone 5 device running iOS version 7.1.1. (23125)
- High-priority notification vibration sometimes cannot be turned off using the volume control.
On some devices, if you have set Messaging - Do Not Disturb and have exited the Vocera Collaboration Suite,
and are sent a high-priority Alert, you cannot stop the notification vibration using the volume control. This issue has been detected on
devices running iOS versions 7.0 and 7.1.1. (23253)
- Alerts can be sent to both Escalation Distribution Lists and regular Distribution Lists.
Attempting to send an Alert to both an Escalation Distribution List and a regular Distribution List
should be forbidden, but is currently allowed. (23759)
- Choppy audio at start of Call when switching from Bluetooth to handset.
If your device has a Bluetooth connection, and you set your communication method to Handset,
the audio for the first few seconds of a received Call may be choppy. (23873)
- Audio output may stutter when app launched and minimized. If your device is playing media,
and you start the Vocera Collaboration Suite and minimize it,
the media output may stutter for approximately 500 milliseconds. (24370)
- Time-sensitive Alert expiration icon not displayed if no response required. If a time-sensitive
Alert is sent and no response is required, the Time Expired alert status indicator is not properly
displayed when the Alert expires. (24386)
- Vibration cannot be turned off in Alert Notification options. In the Alert Notifications
section of the profile options, if you turn off Enable Vibration, tap the Back button, exit the
application and relaunch it, and then display the Alert Notification options, Enable Vibration
remains set. (24449)
- Ring tone not played when normal priority Alert received immediately following low priority Alert.
If you receive a low priority Alert, for which a ring tone is not normally played, and you then
receive a normal priority Alert up to 30 seconds later, the ring tone for the normal priority Alert
is not heard. (24452)
- Device continues to play Alert ring tone after banner notification dismissed. If you have
set the notification style to Banners, and you dismiss a received Alert by sliding the banner upwards,
the Alert tone continues to ring. (24458)
- Push To Talk end of control chime not played if relinquished less than 2 seconds after control obtained.
If you relinquish control over Push To Talk in a broadcast, panic call, or instant conference, and this
release of control takes place within 2 seconds of taking over control, the end chime
indicating change of control may not be played. (24475)
- Multiple Chat sessions appear when a Chat session is originated from the
VMP Web Console. If you start a Chat session from
Vocera Collaboration Suite, and start a Chat session from
VMP Web Console with the same user, a message sent from the
VMP Web Console should appear on
Vocera Collaboration Suite in the Chat session started from there. (24487)
- Vocera Collaboration Suite does not automatically start
on device restart if device password required. On all versions of the iOS operating system,
if you have supplied a password for your device and you restart the device, you must enter the password before the
Vocera Collaboration Suite will automatically start.
This is a restriction in the iOS operating system: no interfaces, including Wi-Fi, are connected until the password
is supplied.
