Vocera Collaboration Suite is a healthcare mobile application that provides real-time situational awareness and actionable patient data to inform clinical decisions so that care team members can easily communicate and collaborate, improving the experience of the patient and the caregiver.

This release includes the following new and enhanced features and functionality.

New and Enhanced Features in Version 3.11.0

Features marked with an asterisk * require Vocera Messaging Platform version 5.8.

Features marked with two asterisks ** require Vocera Voice Server version 5.8.

* ** VCS can now be paired with a Minibadge

You can now specify that a Minibadge is to be paired with your VCS app using Bluetooth. When the app and device are paired, login information is sent from VCS to the Minibadge and the user is logged in on both devices. Some basic Minibadge settings can be seen and modified from VCS.
Notifications suppressed when Do Not Disturb for Calls set

If you have set Do Not Disturb for Calls, tone notifications for missed calls, voicemail, and voice reminders are suppressed. This ensures that if you are off-shift and sleeping, these notifications do not wake you up. The notifications otherwise remain unchanged.

Device Requirements

You must be using a supported device and operating system to be able to run Vocera Collaboration Suite.

Note: You cannot use the Vocera Collaboration Suite app and the Vocera Secure Texting app on the same device.

Client OS Requirements

iOS 14 or later.

Vocera recommends that you do not upgrade to a new OS version until it has been validated to work correctly with Vocera Collaboration Suite. You will receive a tech alert bulletin when a new version is validated.

Enterprise Devices

Enterprise Devices are those on which Vocera does extensive device performance testing for voice quality and wireless connectivity. They are recommended for use in an enterprise environment.

Apple iPhone Models Supported

Any device that supports iOS 14 or later meets the specifications for our product. Quality of experience may vary based on manufacturer and device model. Vocera support for these devices is on a reasonable effort basis.

VCS-21099 VCS for iOS is now no longer reporting an invalid access point MAC address when an element of the address is missing a leading zero.

Known Issues

This release includes the following known issues and limitations for versions of the Vocera Collaboration Suite running on Apple iOS operating systems.

VCS-18273 If you receive a notification of an urgent or high priority message while in a Vocera call or cellular call, the notification does not continue after the call is terminated. This is a known issue with the Apple iOS operating system.
VCS-19053 The incoming notification for a new message is not displayed when you are in the face ID pop up screen. If you lock the screen or the timeout interval is reached, the message is displayed. This is an iOS limitation.
VCS-20337 If your device is running iOS version 15.0.2 and you install VCS for the first time on the device, messages may be received silently without a notification tone. Terminating the app and restarting it will correct this issue, as will updating to iOS 15.1 or later. This problem occurs on iOS 15.0.2 only.
VCS-21120 Current versions of the mobile application are not compatible with eSIMs on iOS devices.
