No changes to existing features in this release.

• App service icon no longer persists on personal devices when user is logged out.

  When you have VCS configured for personal use on an Android device, and you log out of VCS, the VCS service is stopped, and the VCS app icon no longer appears in the notification banner.

• New location and display permissions for Android Q devices.

  If you are using VCS on an Android Q device, you must set the following permissions:

  • When specifying when VCS is allowed to access the device's location, select "Allow all the time".
  • Set the "Allow display over other apps" setting. This ensures that the pop-up screens that warn you of an incoming call or a change in your On-Call status appear even when VCS is in the background.

Enterprise Devices are those on which Vocera does extensive device performance testing for voice quality and wireless connectivity. They are recommended for use in an enterprise environment.

These devices or OS versions meet the minimum specifications for our product. Quality of experience may vary based on manufacturer and device model. Vocera support for these devices is on a reasonable effort basis.

• Android OS 5.0 and later

Vocera recommends that you do not upgrade to a new OS version until it has been validated to work correctly with Vocera Collaboration Suite. You will receive a tech alert bulletin when a new version is validated.

• Changes to support Google required 64-bit compliance.

  Components of VCS have been updated to conform to Google policy.

Features marked with an asterisk * require Vocera Messaging Platform version 5.3.2.

• Text can be copied and pasted in message conversations and alerts.

  You can now copy existing text from a conversation or alert and paste it into another conversation. This text cannot be pasted into apps other than VCS.

• * You can now define fields to be included in message templates.

  When you create a message using a message template, the system administrator can define one or more fields that are to be included in messages that are generated from this template. Any of these fields can be set to be required fields. When fields are supplied, the field labels and text are included in the message body.

• * Do Not Disturb now provides a timer capability.

  You can now indicate that you are not to be disturbed by either messages or calls for a specified period of time.

• * Patient name now included on Secure Messages screen if available and no subject defined.

  If a message has no message subject, and patient information has been provided for the message, the patient name is now displayed on the Secure Messages screen where the subject is normally displayed. The patient name does not become the message subject.

• Remind Me Later option now available for messages of Normal priority.

  You can now use a profile option to enable the Remind Me Later capability for messages of Normal priority.

• * Adding pictures to messages may now be disabled.

  An administrator can now use options in the VMP Administrator to disable the ability to add a picture to a message from the device gallery, the ability to add a picture taken with the device's camera, or both.

• Job title now specified for care team member if no role assigned.

  When viewing a patient care team, if no role has been specified for a care team member, the team member's job title is displayed.

• * Quick messages now available.

  Commonly-used messages, such as "I am with a patient", can now be stored in your device as quick messages. This enables you to respond immediately to common situations. You can create your own quick messages or use quick messages that your administrator has defined for you.

• * You can now be notified when your status changes to On-Call or Not On-Call.

  If you are a member of an On-Call Distribution List, the VMP Server can now be configured to send you a notification when your status changes to On-Call, when your status changes to Not On-Call, or both.

• VCS is now integrated with Imprivata Mobile Device Access.

  You can now supply your VCS login credentials to the Imprivata Mobile Device Access (IMDA) app. This enables you to log into VCS when you either log into the IMDA app or tap your Imprivata card on an NFC sensor.

• You can now send a message to any user with information about any patient.

  From the information screen for a patient, you can now send a message to any favorite or contact. A link to this patient information is included in the message if the user has permission to view patient information.

• Search functionality improved.

  The search capability in VCS has been improved to produce better matches when searching using multiple words.

No fixes have been included in this release.

• VCS-14336 - Days now properly displayed in weekly on-call schedule.

  When displaying an on-call schedule in Week format, there were some cases in which not all days of the week were displayed. This problem has been fixed.

• VCS-15857 - Keyboard now displayed properly when message text field tapped.

  On some Android devices, the keyboard did not always appear when tapping the text field in a message. This problem has now been resolved.

• VCS-16286 - Pictures properly deleted from device gallery.

  When using some Android devices, pictures captured and added to message conversations were visible in your device's photo gallery. They are now deleted properly.

• VCS-16306 - PDF files now open properly (Zebra MC40).

  In previous releases, PDF files were discovered to not open properly when running the Zebra MC40 using Android version 5.1.1. This problem has now been resolved.

• VCS-16529 - Zebra TC51 device now no longer unlocks on High or Urgent priority alerts.

  If you are using VCS on a Zebra TC51 device, your device now no longer automatically unlocks when you receive an alert of High or Urgent priority.

• VCS-16740 - Proximity sensor now working properly (Samsung 10).

  If you are using VCS on a Samsung 10 device, you are in a call, and you cover the proximity sensor at the top of the device, the proximity screen now appears.
