Hidden Properties

The Vocera Voice Server supports the hidden properties that are updated manually in the properties.txt file to enable or disable a certain feature.

Note: Vocera recommends calling Customer Support if you plan to manually update the properties.txt file.
Locate the properties.txt in \vocera\server\properties.txt, update desired properties, and restart the server to enable or disable the new setting.

Note: When the properties.txt file is modified, the Vocera Voice Server must be restarted to load the properties into memory.

AddToMultipleGroupsReminderPrompt

Automatically reminds users after successful login to add themselves to multiple groups.

It is set to false, by default.

Set this property to true to enable the prompt. Edit the %vocera_drive%:\vocera\server\properties.txt file on both the active and standby VS servers and add the following two lines at the end of the file:
# Remind user to add themselves to groups. Default value is false
AddToMultipleGroupsReminderPrompt = true

DigitLengthForEnuciation

Set the maximum length for a number that the Genie enunciates as a number (not digits) while converting the text to speech. This property can have values ranging between 0 and 3. When it is set to 0, Genie enunciates numbers as digits.

For example, Genie enunciates 110 as One Hundred Ten when the value is set to 3. If this property is set to 0, Genie enunciates 110 as One One Zero.

It is set to 3, by default.

DNDBlocksForwarding

Disables call forwarding for the users in Do Not Disturb mode when set to true.

It is set to false, by default.

ForceAutoAnswerForDirectCall

Overrides the default system settings and allows the direct call users to auto-answer all the incoming calls, when set to true. To use system settings, set it to false for the direct call user.

It is set to true, by default.

ForceDTLS

Supports Vocera Smartbadge devices running on firmware versions (earlier than 5.0.4) that do not support DTLS, when set it is to false. Update the firmware versions to 5.0.4 or later before setting it to true, as it logs out all the Smartbadges until the supported firmware is downloaded.

It is set to false, by default.

HastyDelete

Controls hasty delete of location, user, and group entities. If it is set to true, the entity is deleted immediately even if the system is not idle. When it is set to false, the entity deletion happens only when the system goes into the idle state.

It is set to true, by default.

InactiveHastyDeleteDuration

Controls hasty delete of location, user, and group entities.

It is set to true, by default.

IPPhoneClientDisableBroadcastChime

Controls the use of multiple speech ports at the start of an urgent or non-urgent broadcast.

The Vocera Voice Server uses a speech port to play the chime, by default. When set to true, the VCS clients play the chime instead of the speech port.

It is set to false, by default.

Note: Before enabling this property, upgrade all clients to VCS 3.4 or later to avoid issues hearing the chime.

IPVMISecureEnable

Enables secure VMI support within the Vocera Voice Server. When set to true, the Vocera Voice Server opens a port to listen for secure VMI client connections.

It is set to false, by default.

IPVMISecureListeningPortNo

Specifies the port the Vocera Voice Server uses to listen for secure VMI client connections.

It is set to 5007, by default.

MsgDisableSkipMessageResponse

Enables or disables the "Skip" response for VMI messages that are played aloud, forcing users to say a valid response, such as "Accept" or "Reject."

It is set to true, by default.

RejectMessageOnUrgentPlayback

Controls the delivery of new alerts and messages while enunciating an urgent message. Set this property to true to reject new alerts and messages sent to the user when the user is currently listening to an enunciated message.

It is set to false, by default.

SysBroadcastResponse

Enables or disables responses to broadcasts. To make broadcasts uninterruptible, set this property to false.

It is set to true, by default.

SysIgnoreSuppressFirmwareDownload

Forces an update to the firmware if the Smartbadge is running an unsupported version, when it is set to true.

It is set to false, by default.

SysLoginLicenseAlertThreshold

Sets the percentage threshold at which the Vocera Voice Server sends an email alert whenever the threshold is exceeded if there is a login license limit.

Enter a decimal value. The default threshold is .90 (90%) of the login license limit.

For example, enter.95 to increase the alert threshold from 90% to 95%.

SysLoginSpeechLanguageID

Sets the VAA and login to use the speech pack language ID that was installed by the MSP.

Enter a valid speech pack value for this property.

SysMaxRejectedLogins

Sets the maximum number of rejected login attempts before the user is prevented from logging in from that machine for one minute or the interval specified by the SysMaxRejectedLoginsPeriod property.

Enter any positive integer.

SysMaxRejectedLoginsPeriod

Sets the time period (in milliseconds) that a user is prevented from logging in from a machine on which he has reached the maximum number of rejected login attempts.

Enter any positive integer. It is set to 60000 milliseconds, or 1 minute, by default.

SysFunnyGenie

Enables or disables the funny Genie.

It is set to true, by default.

TelEnunciateCallerNumber

Controls the enunciation of phone number when the call is received from an external phone number.

It is set to false, by default.

TelEnunciateCallerName

Controls the enunciation of caller name when the call is received from an external phone number.

It is set to false, by default.

VCGSupportSignalingOnly

Enables the RTP Flow around for direct Peer-to-Peer calling, when set to true. All the calls between Vocera users using VCS are not routed through the VCG.

It is set to false, by default.

VMIBroadcastEnabled

The Vocera Voice Server has been enhanced so that unicast messages always utilize a single speech port.
Note: You no longer need to set this property for urgent Broadcast messages to large groups.

Maps VMI responses passed from a middleware system to other response choices.

VMIResponseTimeout

Specifies the number of seconds that a user can be prompted to respond to a new alert or alarm before the message times out.

VMITimeoutResponse

Specifies the response that is used when a new alert or alarm reaches the specified VMIResponseTimeout.

VMITouchCallResponse

Specifies the Vocera response phrase that is used when a user presses the Call button to respond to a new VMI message.

Specifies the Vocera response phrase that is used when a user presses the DND button to respond to a new VMI message.

VMITouchCallHoldResponse

Specifies the Vocera response phrase that is used when a user presses and holds the Call button to respond to a new VMI message.

WaitForAnswerMaxBeepsPhone

Controls the group call timeout experienced by the caller for the phone clients.

It is set to 54 seconds, by default.
