Forwarding Options

The Call Forwarding Options page in the Add/Edit User dialog box (or the corresponding fields in the data-loading template) lets you choose the Call Forwarding Options and specific conditions for which you want your calls forwarded to a different badge, phone, or address book entry.

The Genie uses the forwarding option that you chose when you are unavailable to take a call.

No Forwarding prompts the user to leave a message when a call is not answered. This message is delivered to your mailbox.

Forward to Company Voice Mail

Forward to Company Voice Mail forwards the call to your company voice mail.

The company's voicemail must be specified to enable this option.

Forward to Another Badge, Group, or Address Book Entry

Forward to Another Badge, Group, or Address Book Entry transfers the call to a particular badge user, group, or address book entry when you are unavailable to answer your call. To choose this option, click Select to open a dialog box that lists all the choices in the system. Select a badge user, group, or address book entry and click Finish.

When you forward to a group, the forwarding settings of individual group members are ignored.

Forward to Desk Phone

Forward Desk Phone transfers the unanswered call to the desk phone number saved in your Phone page.

Forward to Cell Phone

Forward to Cell Phone transfers the unanswered call to the cell phone number saved in your Phone page

Forward to Home Phone

Forward to Home Phone transfers the unanswered call to the home phone number saved in your Phone page.

Forward to Another Number

Forward to Another Number transfers the unanswered call to the number that you enter.

This feature requires the telephony integration option.

Forward When

Specify one of the following:

  • All forwards all incoming calls.

  • Unanswered forwards only calls that are not answered.

  • Offline forwards calls when you are not logged into to the network.

If you provide a value other than All, Offline, or Unanswered in the data-loading template, an error will occur when you try to import the file.

When All or Offline option is selected, missed calls are not shown.

Hide Forwarded Number n/a

Hide Forwarded Number displays the name of the caller instead of an external phone number on the device.
