This topics describes the steps to follow in a scenario where a system device manager
receives a malfunctioning device to diagnose and evaluate for in-house repair or RMA
submission.
To receive a device for repair:

Perform inspection and diagnostics on the malfunctioning equipment.

Complete steps 1 to 5 in Beginning to Manage Devices.

Update fields in the Add/Edit Device dialog box:

In the Status field, select "Received for Repair"
from the drop-down list.

In the Notes field enter today’s date, notes
indicating the device was received and any conclusions reached resulting from
the inspection and diagnostics, and your initials.

Click Save.
