Email Monitoring With VMP Messages

Vocera Messaging Platform provides features to integrate user email into the Messaging feature. The server monitors the email box and sends a message to the user when new mail is received.

The following services are supported:

IMAP
Exchange Web Services (EWS)

The following email formats are supported:

Format	Description
Free Text Format	The email body contains the content of the message to be delivered. The format is constrained by the following rules: The message recipients are added to the To field. The sender email address is added to the From field. The email topic is added to the Subject field. The email text is added to the Message field.
XML Format	An email generated by another system or process, where the email body contains an XML document with specific tags used by the VMP Server. If the body of the email is structured using the supported XML template, email aliasing and redirection is not necessary. Email messages are sent directly to the monitored mailbox. The XML document contained in the email body defines the recipients for the message. The email header fields are not used to determine the recipients and sender information. See XML Email Template.
