Vina / Configuring Vocera Vina |
If you are new to Vina Web, follow this checklist to set up what you need. Some of the components described here may have been set up for you when the Vocera Platform was installed.
What you need to do | Where to go from here |
---|---|
Set up your facility |
A facility is a hospital or other institution that is using your installation of the Vocera Platform. See Facilities for more information on facilities, and see Adding a Facility for instructions on how to add a facility. |
Define groups |
A group is a collection of users. You can organize groups in any way that is convenient for you. For example, a group can contain all people in a specified location (Floor 3 West), with the same job title (Family Physician), or the same task (On-Call Doctors). A user can be in as many groups as you like. See Groups for more information on groups, and see Adding a Group for instructions on how to add a group. |
Create users |
A user is someone who accesses the Vocera Platform. All users have a username and log-in credentials. See Users for more information on users, and see Adding a User for instructions on how to add a user. |
Define contacts |
A contact is a person, business, or other entity that does not have access to the Vocera Platform but with which you need to communicate. See Contacts for more information on contacts, and see Adding a Contact for instructions on how to add a contact. |
Specify group permissions |
For each group that you create, you can specify permissions that control how members of this group access the Vocera Platform Web Console and Vocera Vina. An example is the Console Session Timeout permission, which controls how long a Vocera Platform Web Console user can remain inactive before being logged out. See Security Permissions for information on permissions. |
