Enhanced Voice in Vocera Platform

The Enhanced Voice feature adds speech recognition enhancements to the Vocera Platform features that require voice recognition.

The Enhanced Voice feature uses a cloud-based Natural Language Understanding (NLU) speech recognition system to provide more accurate and flexible results. A license key with the enhanced voice entitlement is required to configure this feature. You must also enable the ExternalVoiceDataSync service adapter to manage the feature for users in the system.

Note: Contact Vocera Customer Support for any assistance with installing an Enhanced Voice license for your organization. The Vocera Customer Support team member can install the updated license file on the platform and check connectivity.

Once the license is enabled, it is recommended that you verify the connectivity. If you installed the license with Enhanced Voice and prefer to enable this feature at a later time, you can enable the Enhanced Voice feature configuration from the Web Console, see Enabling Enhanced Voice in Vocera Platform for more information. You can also manage which users should use the Enhanced Voice feature by granting permissions to a specific group of users, see Enabling Enhanced Voice For Group Members in Vocera Platform for details.

Important: Additional firewall exceptions may be required for external service communication when the Enhanced Voice feature is enabled. Refer to the "Enhanced Voice" section in the Vocera IP Port Reference Guide.
Note:

After you configure the Enhanced Voice feature, you may notice a slight delay between adding an entity and it being available for recognition.
