Disabling Alert Tones and Reminders

Certain special circumstances may require you to disable the alert tones and reminders for device users to allow them to enjoy some quiet time without the random beeping of their Vocera device.

Most device user can enable or disable alert tones and reminders as per their liking in the Vocera Platform My Profile. Disabling alert tones and reminders may be useful when the Direct Call feature is enabled for a patient-user.

To disable alert tones and reminders, follow these steps:

  1. Click Users in the Manage section.
    All users for the selected Facility are displayed.
  2. Locate the user for whom you want to disable these settings. You can enter the user's name (first name, last name, or username) in the search bar to locate the user, see Searching for Users for additional information.
  3. Click on the user or click the Options button in the far right of the user that you want to edit.
  4. Select Edit User from the dropdown menu.

    The Edit User page displays with information for this user.
  5. Scroll down to the Notifications and Miscellaneous Settings section and uncheck the following fields (if they are selected) to disable them:.
    • Alert Tones
      • On/Off Network Alert
      • Low Battery Alert
      • Text Message Alert
      • Voice Message Alert
    • Reminders
      • Text Message Reminder
      • Voice Message Reminder
      • DND Reminder
  6. (Optional) Modify any other settings that you want to update for a user, see Specifying Notifications and Miscellaneous Settings for a complete list of related field information.
  7. Select one of the following to close the Edit User page:
    • Save — to update the user information in the system.
    • Cancel — to return to the All Users page with saving any changes.
    • Delete User — to remove this user from the system permanently.
