Entering Your PIN

Your administrator may have configured your system to require a PIN if your Vina app is inactive for a specified period of time. If you have enabled fingerprint authentication on your device, and your administrator has authorized it for use, you can use it instead of supplying the PIN.

Note: Fingerprint authentication is supported on Android devices running Marshmallow (Android version 6.x) or later.

Your administrator may have created a PIN for you, or you can define one yourself. See Setting a PIN for more details.

When you have not provided your PIN, you can accept incoming calls and view alarm notifications, but you cannot accept an alarm until you have provided your fingerprint authentication or PIN.

Your system administrator specifies the amount of inactive time before a PIN is required.

  1. If you have fingerprint authentication enabled on your device, a screen appears that asks you to use it to activate Vina. If this method fails, you are given the opportunity to try again.

Tap Cancel to use your PIN or your password to activate Vina.

  2. If you do not have fingerprint authentication enabled or do not want to use it, a dialog box appears that asks you to provide your PIN. Type your PIN in the field provided.

If you are seeing this screen because you are using a shared device and another person was previously using it, tap Logout to log out. You can then log in using your username.

For information on setting up fingerprint authentication for use with Vina, see Enabling Fingerprint Authentication.

  3. If you have forgotten your PIN, tap Forgot PIN. A screen appears that asks you to provide your login password. Type this password to activate Vina.

Your administrator can reset your PIN for you. Contact your administrator for details.
