Responding to a Coverage Request

If someone has requested you to provide coverage, a Request Coverage alarm is added to your list of conversations.

If the coverage request starts less than 24 hours from now, the request for a response to the Request Coverage alarm appears on your screen immediately, as the alarm is of Urgent priority:

For coverage requests that start later than 24 hours from now, the alarm is of High priority, and this request for a response appears when you tap the alarm in your list of conversations. The alarm indicates the date and time for which coverage is requested.

Request Coverage alarms behave like any other alarm that you receive. See Receiving an Alarm for information on receiving alarms.

If you accept the coverage request, your acceptance is displayed as a log entry in the Info tab of the coverage request:

The text indicating that the request has been accepted appears in green. If you decline a coverage request, the text appears in red.

When the coverage starts, another log entry is displayed:

The coverage request remains accessible from the Home screen, in case you need to recall for whom you are covering and for how long.

When the coverage period is about to end, a notification is sent to both your device and the device of the person that is covering for you:

The coverage request does not end until the person that you are covering for specifies that he or she is resuming coverage. You then receive a notification that the conversation for this coverage request has been moved to the archives:

A log message in the conversation indicates that coverage has resumed.
