Presence and Availability

When you are creating a new message, and are adding recipients for the message, VCS indicates whether each individual user is present and is available to receive your message. This lets you know whether your message will be received immediately, and lets you know whether your recipient can immediately get to where you are.

In the list of users and groups from which you select message recipients, if the contact is an individual user, the color of the ring around the contact's photo or initials indicates the contact's availability.

Groups and distribution lists have a gray ring.

Details on the contact's current status are provided below the contact's name and title. These include the following:

When you have added a recipient to the list of recipients displayed in the To field of the screen for the new message, the To field indicates the availability of each user that is a person. A green dot next to the user's name indicates that the user is available.

An orange dot next to the user's name indicates that the user is in Do Not Disturb mode for voice, text, or both.

If the user is unavailable, the user's name is highlighted with a red background, and a banner indicates that the user is unavailable:

If you are sending a message to multiple users, and one or more users are unavailable, the unavailable users are listed first.

For groups and distribution lists, the dot next to the contact is gray.
