When you type text in a Search field to search for contacts
that match the text,
VCS employs
the rules described here.
- The search string matches if it is identical to the first few characters of a word in the result.
For example, the search string McN matches Josh McNab.
- The search string matches if it is identical to the first few characters of a word portion
that follows an underscore character _. For example, the result level_2_trauma
matches the search strings trauma and 2 as
well as level.
- The search string matches if it is identical to the first few characters after
a dash character -. For example, the search string McN
matches Morgan-McNab.
- The search string matches if it matches the first few characters if you ignore punctuation.
For example, the search string OLe matches O'Leary.
