Using a Vocera Device with the Vina app

You can use Vocera Vina for messaging with a Vocera Minibadge for hands-free communication.

You can use the Vocera Minibadge as needed to send and receive Vocera calls, broadcasts, and messages.
You can also use the Vina app to participate in message conversations and alerts.
All messages sent to your Minibadge are delivered to the Inbox of the Vina app. You can respond to a message from the app if you prefer.
When you use a Vocera device with the Vina app, initiating a call from the Vina app from your Contacts list, it connects it through your Minibadge instead of the Vina app.

The following table describes the features and the status of the features on the Minibadge when used with the Vina app.

Feature	Status
Login	The Vocera icon appears on the Vina app when you log in to the Vina app. When you log in to the Vocera Minibadge after logging in to the Vina app, the Vocera icon changes to the Minibadge icon on the Vina app. The Minibadge enunciates that you are already logged in if you are using the Vina app on your device and still want to log in to the Vocera Device. Say "Yes." The Minibadge is the primary device, and all the alerts and notification beeps are heard on the Minibadge. When you log in to the Vina app after logging in to the Minibadge, the Vina app icon changes to Minibadge icon.
Logout	If you log out of Vina, all the calls, messages, and alerts are received on the Minibadge.
Presence Status	The availability status and the availability description are reflected on the Vina app.
Calls	Minibadge is a voice device, so it receives all calls and broadcasts. Calls initiated from the Vina app contacts are audio-connected on the Minibadge. When you access the call screen from the Vina app, a message is displayed on the call module screen that indicates that an alternate Vocera device is in use for calls and messages.
Voicemail	You can play the Voicemail from either endpoint. The "listened to" status is reflected on both endpoints irrespective of where the playback is initiated.
Alerts	Alerts are delivered to both endpoints. Minibadge plays the appropriate kerplunks and displays the appropriate LED color based on the alert priority. Alert can be heard and responded to on either endpoint. The alert messages reflect as read or responded in the other endpoint. When an alert is deleted, it is reflected on all endpoints.
Text messages	Minibadge plays the appropriate kerplunks based on the message priority and also displays the appropriate LED color. Message can be heard and responded to on either endpoint. The text messages reflect as read and answered in the other endpoint. Sent messages are reflected on the Vina app.
Vina Control	Vina app can take back voice control by pressing the Call button in the Vina app. In that case: Minibadge is logged out and, the Vina app becomes the primary device for voice and messaging.
DND status	Setting DND from Minibadge should reflect in the Vina app. The timed DND set from Minibadge does not reflect in the Vina app currently.
Button behavior during DND	Pressing the Call button or the Call option resets the DND. If the DND is timed, the Minibadge resets DND on the Vina app.
DND status during login and logout	When you log in to the Minibadge, DND is reset. If the DND is timed, the Minibadge resets DND on the Vina app.
