What's New
This section summarizes the new features in the Vocera Secure Texting Sync Connector product.
What's New in the VST Sync Connector 2.1.01148 Release
-
The VST Sync Connector connector has been
upgraded to support Vocera Voice Server 5.3.1. (CASE-1019)
If your environment requires you to use the VSTSetup-VS-Only.exe connector (that is,
if you do not use the Vocera Messaging Platform),
changes in Vocera Voice Server 5.3.1 and greater
require you to upgrade to VST Sync Connector
2.1.01148.
What's New in the VST Sync Connector 2.1.01145 Release
-
VST Sync Connector 2.1.01145 is primarily a maintenance release.
Any customer that currently needs the VST Sync Connector
should upgrade to this release.
Note:
See
Prerequisites to determine if your on-premises environment still requires you
to use the
VST Sync Connector.
-
In addition, VST Sync Connector 2.1.01145
installs a web service on the VS
that the VMP uses when it syncs
data to the VST server.
If VMP is not installed, this web service
is not used.
Prerequisites
See Vocera Voice Server
Requirements to determine if your on-premises environment requires you to use the VST Sync Connector.
Installation
VST is a hosted solution that requires lightweight setup tasks from both a Hospital Administrator
and a Practice Administrator:
-
A Hospital is an organization that has a Vocera Voice Server license.
Hospital Administrators invite members of their own organization to become VST users and
invite affiliated organizations to communicate with the hospital using VST.
-
A Practice is an organization that does not have its own Vocera Voice Server license,
but is an affiliate of a hospital that does have a Vocera Voice Server license.
Practice Administrators invite members of their own organization to become VST users.
The Hospital Administrator may need to install the Vocera Secure Texting Sync Connector, allowing
users of the Vocera Voice Server and the Vocera Secure Texting application to communicate with each other. See
Vocera Voice Server Requirements
in the VST Hospital Administrator Guide.
After installation, the Hospital Administrator and the Practice Administrator each need to invite
users and perform basic configuration tasks. See the
VST Hospital Administrator Guide
and the
VST Practice Administrator Guide.

Known Issues
This section provides information about known product issues in the
Vocera Secure Texting Sync Connector.
-
DE12578 - The Vocera Secure Texting Sync Connector does not record events in
the Vocera Voice Server log if the log file is open.
The Vocera Secure Texting Sync Connector logs are located in the
\vocera\vst\logs\ directory of the
Vocera Voice Server.
Workaround: Make sure log files are closed when you are done working with them.
-
DE6716 - The Vocera Secure Texting Sync Connector fails after changing the state of the SSL protocol.
When the Vocera Secure Texting Sync Connector is first started, it checks to determine whether SSL is enabled or disabled on the
Vocera Voice Server. If SSL is enabled or disabled after the Vocera Secure Texting Sync Connector has made a connection, the
Vocera Secure Texting Sync Connector does not detect the change and fails.
Workaround: After you change the state of SSL, use the Windows Services Control Panel to stop
the Vocera Secure Texting Connector service and then start it again.
