The Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) is an XML-based data format for exchanging public warnings and emergencies between alerting technologies. The Vocera Inocming CAP adapter is designed to receive and process these CAP-based alerts from a third party interfacing system.
The CAP endpoint allows alerts to be received through post or retrieved via a CAP feed URL. The Vocera Incoming CAP adapter receives the CAP XML messages per the interface configuration and then parses the content of the XML messages. The CAP message is matched against the defined Message Types, and then stored into the configure dataset.
The adapter provides an HTTP(s) endpoint at <Vocera fqdn>/Vocera/Incoming Cap/cap?ID=<interfaceId>. Where <fqdn> is the cluster's configured Fully Qualified Domain Name (fqdn) and <interfaceId> is the id of the interface. Provide this endpoint to the integrating vendor when configuring CAP post.
