The Vocera Messaging Platform (VMP) provides an enterprise messaging solution designed to address the unique communication challenges of healthcare. Users can leverage the communication capabilities of VMP from the Vocera Collaboration Suite, Vocera Secure Texting, the VMP Web Console, and the Vocera badge and Smartbadge.

This release includes the following new features and functionality.

Forwarded alerts can now be sent to the forwarder
A new Vocera Messaging Platform Administration Guide configuration option enables you to specify that when a user has enabled alert message forwarding, this user receives a copy of any forwarded alert message.

Leaving a conversation
When you are logged into the VMP Web Console, you can now leave a message conversation in which you do not want to participate. The conversation is hidden when you leave it.

Smartphone and smartbadge dual login
Any user can now be simultaneously logged into Vocera Collaboration Suite on a smartphone and logged into the Vocera Smartbadge. To view the device ID and client version for each login, edit the user's information in the VMP Administrator.

Microsoft mail service support updated
VMP now uses Microsoft Graph to communicate with the Microsoft Outlook 365 and Microsoft Exchange email services.

Forwarding to a group now enabled
The VMP Server now allows messages to be forwarded to either a group or an individual user.

Notification banner can be set for all users
The Notification Banner Message configuration option in the VMP Administrator allows you to specify a notification banner that appears on the Secure Messages screen when any VMP Web Console or Vocera Collaboration Suite user logs in.

SQL database now named VOCERAVMP
For new installations of VMP starting with this release, the SQL database that VMP uses is called VOCERAVMP. Existing installations of VMP will continue to use the WICMASTER SQL database.

Tomcat support option now removed
The Enable Enhanced Voice Server NIO Tomcat Feature option has been removed from the Vocera Messaging Platform Administration Guide configuration options.

Microsoft Edge support
The Microsoft Edge (Chromium) browser is now supported, but the
legacy Microsoft Edge browser is no longer supported.
The following list contains fixes and improvements made to version 5.6.0 of Vocera Messaging Platform.

CMSG-12306 When you are logged into the VMP Web Console and you create a notification message to send to an Escalation Distribution List, the Attach Media button is now disabled.

CMSG-12331 When viewing a message in Monitor View in the VMP Web Console, the list of message recipients is no longer truncated.
