Vocera Collaboration Suite is a healthcare mobile application that provides real-time situational awareness and actionable patient data to inform clinical decisions so that care team members can easily communicate and collaborate, improving the experience of the patient and the caregiver.

This release includes the following important changes.

• VCS requires DND Access permission to be able to notify you of urgent calls and messages when your device has its Do Not Disturb setting activated (Android 7+).

  If your device is using the Android 7.0 or later operating system, you are asked to provide the DND Access permission when you log into VCS for the first time.

Your Android device must be using a supported operating system to be able to run Vocera Collaboration Suite.

Vocera offers the Zebra TC52-HC, TC51-HC, and MC40-HC as enterprise-class smartphone platforms for the Vocera Collaboration Suite. Built to withstand the demands of a highly mobile healthcare environment, these rugged, pocket-sized Android smartphone solutions improve healthcare staff productivity, communication and patient safety.

This release includes the following new features and functionality.

Features marked with an asterisk * require Vocera Messaging Platform version 5.4.

• * Off Campus status can now be hidden.

  A configuration option in the VMP Administrator now specifies whether Off Campus is to be displayed as part of each user's availability status.

• Template names and subjects can now be searched.

  When you are using a template to create a message, you can now type text in a search field to display only those templates whose names and subjects contain the search text. This is useful if you have defined a large number of templates.

• * You can now set templates as favorites.

  Templates that you use frequently can now be specified as favorites. These templates appear at the top of the template list when you create a message.

• Searching has been improved.

  When you type text in the Search field to match the name of a contact, the search text matches text that contains punctuation. For example, the search string "McN" matches "Josh_McNab", "Josh-McNab", or "Mc'Nab" as well as "Josh McNab".

• * Expired alerts now hidden.

  When an alert expires, it is now hidden on VCS.

This release includes the following fixes:

• VCS-17443 - Call status now updated when logging in while off campus.

  If you have previously set Do Not Disturb for Calls and you log in while off campus, your state is now accurately reflected.

• VCS-17627 - Battery consumption reduced on Android OS 10.

  If you are using VCS on a device that is running the Android 10 operating system, you now experience reduced battery consumption.

This release includes the following known issues and limitations for versions of the Vocera Collaboration Suite running on Android operating systems.

• VCS-18121 - Urgent priority notification not continued after cellular call terminated.

  If you are in a cellular call, receive an urgent priority notification, and then terminate the cellular call, the notification is not continued after the call is terminated.

• VCS-18491 - Screen lock not woken up by High and Urgent priority messages (Samsung devices).

  If you are using VCS on a Samsung device, and your screen is locked, the screen lock is not woken up when you receive a message of High or Urgent priority.
